It's like hiring someone to build your house, once they are done would you keep paying them to stand around outside your house?

@@desultorilypanacea The Development team is out, the superchargers builds and placement and maintenance is still in place. The people who acquire property and placements are scaled way back as the superchargers are not full and need to be used. Soon others with Tesla will keep building but not going full bored.

Here is a way to charge the cars now instead of implementing anything new. Tesla could offer drivers who are also at the station a monetary discount on their charging session if they unplugged a Robo taxi when asked to. Imagine sitting in your car and you are ready to go, so you get a notification on your screen that says please unplug Robo Taxi now and your charging session price will be cut in half.

I’ve lived in California off-grid for 35 years, using a 20,000 watt solar array. Because I’m OFF-GRID, I DONT GET ANY GOVERNMENT CREDITS, rebates, or ANY HELP. This is common to all states. Those of us who need it most, don’t get any government subsidies….

The best thing for those robo taxis would be a wireless setup where they can park, power up while sitting, and wait for a customer. I can see this in several places that they can add wireless station.

Training data for Cybertruck needs to be collected to train the new FSD. Even if they use data from all Cybertruck owners it would only be 1% of the amount of Teslas out there. Simulations are probably created instead because thousands of years worth of training data is needed. The camera locations are drastically different from the locations on other Teslas too, so it isn't like just transferring over data and functionality. An image from a pillar camera 2' off ground looks different than an image from a camera 4' off the ground. Then adding a camera in the front yields new images.

I think this is the MP6 is an EXCELLENT metric for those that are INTERESTED or the NAYSAYERS....it gives us concrete data to say something when a naysayer says...yeah but you have to sit there for an hour when charging on a long road trip.....In general most of us charge at home so the 30 miles an hour is fine....

Hey, they did say less favourable Tesla model, which is the LFP which charges max 150kwh to 170-ish I’m in Canada and the maid in China. LFP is exactly what they referring to.

i think that the FSD part is 99,9% done by 08.08. but there are other things that i found challenging. I hope to see the app, the parking, the rates, the handling of where to go, where to park and so on a big challenge as well. How the hole loop works. How to tell the car where i want to go and where it should let me out in a save way. That i hope to see on 08.08. , These are not so unimportant , manageble but important things.

The pontoon boat should be good as a test setup. I'd then suggest a 40' Lobster boat be converted to electric. I'm working on details to design a conversion and need a good hull to start the project with. A wrecked Tesla stripped of it's power system and two 100Kw batteries would be ideal. 40 foot is large enough to be stable and give plenty of room for installation of all the electric components, and plenty of room for solar panels and wind turbine. Would likely use a diesel genset for charging if necessary - but normal days could be completely electric.

Good start for a testing system, but I also think there are things like battery size, air temp, battery temp (preconditioning) to factor in, plus comparing to gas pump "time" are they factoring in the extra time needed to make the credit card transaction? Selecting the grade? Waiting while pumping vs going to the bathroom? Bunch of things to clarify or ideally control for Also how valid is it (or useful, prior to full robotaxi deployment) when many owners currently charge at home or at work and go to a supercharger 5 times a year vs 20-60

I had to charge a Tesla Model Y rental on EA and I got about 200 kv. But, you can’t count on EA.

remember wire by drive is much more sensitive. Something not being talked about for CyberCab

I’m not sure how many people here need to hear this, but it literally does not matter at all what Elon or Tesla says about the supercharging network. What they DID was eliminate the team. All else is damage control.

Was there any comment in the six minute charge about if the battery was preconditioned for fast charging?

I do not believe it is correct that you can put two gen 3 wall connectors on the same branch circuit. Each wall connector needs to have its own breaker. However, if they need to share a total load that is less than the max load of all the wall connectors combined, this is where power sharing comes into play. Only the Gen 2 wall connector could share the same breaker. It had extra communication wires that you would run between the wall connectors for them to communicate.

Some days I get nervous about the company…but you guys give a level of clarity I don’t see In mainstream media.

I have a '23 MYP and a '22 Plaid S, both were on the same branch (8.9). The MYP received the OTA update to 12.4 (30 days Free FSD, Yayyy!) and I can say that the nag is still there. It still requires you to touch or engage with the steering wheel. The Plaid still has not received the update as of today.

MP6 - interesting, but if you're talking supercharger network or any other plug and charge enabled vehicle and network, you have to take into account that fact that has pumps almost universally require you to do more (unlocking gas cap, perhaps, select grade, tap or swipe your credit card, pull the handle, wait for your receipt afterwards maybe punching several buttons) than it's required when simply walking to the back of the car, pushing in the charger cable and walking away to go to the bathroom. I also seldom walked away from the gas pump whereas I always walk away from the charger port to use the bathroom or shop or whatever (if charging was guaranteed 7 minutes or less, I MIGHT not walk away, but I can always stop charging from my phone while I'm browsing snacks, so...)

How about some normal, not that complex situations - like school zones? Sadly, school is out so we probably won't be seeing any further improvement until fall? 12.3.6 can recognize the 15 MPH school zones some of the time but cannot tell where the zones end.
