Full Review of Revlon Colorstay for Normal/Dry Skin - Over 50

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The Revlon Colorstay foundation came out in 2011. Clearly it's supposed to be good, but how good is it for a 55 year old with dry flakey skin??? Full Wear Test!

I am 66 w normal to dry skin. This is my favorite drugstore foundation.....It is my go to....I find its quite buildable and it has a beautiful finish on my skin. All make up and skin care is really just trial and error, I find.....we’re all different 😊.

I am 39 years old and I cant believe I found this foundation just now when I could have had perfect base all these years...I've tried so many foundations and after a few hours I get shiny face with creasing and the foundation sinking into my pores and makes them look huge. I could not believe my eyes when after 12 hours of wearing revlon foundation it looked as perfect as when I applied it! Totally matte, even, no pores and not a crease in sight. Amazing!! I am blown away.

This was my go to foundation from my teen years until my early 30's. After that it just didn't look good. It went through several formula changes that in my opinion weren't improvements and as my skin aged it just no longer worked for me. But everytime I see it I get that nostalgia feel.

Hi Bobbie, you're right about the jingles. My memory needs all the help it can get! I'm glad you tried this foundation. I used to love it, in my 30's and 40's. I've worn both the oily skin and dry. Unfortunately as I've aged it doesn't look as great. I used to compare to Nars longwear but not anymore. But it does bring back memories...😆

When I was in my late teens, early twenties, Colorstay Oily/Combo was my go to. Finally a foundation fair enough and lasted a long time on my combo skin. Then in my late thirties after wearing mineral makeup for a couple years, my skin became normal. I tried the normal/dry formula a couple of times and it was always disappointing, but the Oily/Combo formula is still great. Not sure I like it as much as L'Oreal Serum, but if I want something under $15, easy to use both in dispensing and application (fingers, brush, sponge, with or without primer, with or without concealer) and I need to purchase a foundation quickly while out of town, Revlon Colorstay Oily/Combo is it. I actually did just that a couple weekends ago while. It's one foundation that just seems to work whether I'm 20, 30, 40 or 50, not perfectly, but I haven't found any foundation that does especially since my 40s and 50s.

Well Bobbie, I thought you looked fab. I particularly liked your eye make up on the original video (the pallette you broke) I think it was the best you have done to date. They are all good, but that combination was particulularly striking. Keep up the good work Bobbie, the information gleaned from you is excellent. Love Cindy xx

Hi Bobbie i haven't tried this one, nor any other Revlon foundation tbh due to the shade selection - they just don't do a shade match for me (I'm super pale and cool toned). I like many of their other makeup items eg liners, primers, lip products etc. It's a brand that has been around a very long time and it's sad it may be going away (they've filed for bankruptcy). I can even remember my mum using Revlon when I was young and I'm 50 now. Here in the UK they have a smaller display and less choice available, but there were still some gems I enjoyed and the colourstay liners are a staple in my daily makeup - they do stay on all day. I think you liked it better on the forehead as you only used the one layer there and not every foundation builds well on itself. It is still a popular foundation with many people both on youtube and in real life. Best wishes.

Actually I didn't hear the sound of the fan so your all good Bobbi. Yup the struggle is soooo real, dry patches are a pain, seems my contour of my nostrils are the worst for me! Some mornings it looks like the skin is peeling. Resorted to using Cerave moisturizing cream before bed or petrolatum - seems to be working as long as I remember to put it on LOL.

Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun! A jingle to never be forgotten. Your not THE latest to the Revlon Colorstay foundation. I finally got some tonight. Haven't tried it yet but I will tomorrow. I've heard so many good things about it so I finally bought it. Right now my go-to foundations are L'Oreal's True Match Super Blendable, L'Oreal's True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum and It Cosmetics CC cream. (I only use the It CC for full coverage glam makeup days...or nights. 😁 Did you know that you can fix an eyeshadow even if it's completely crushed? Just take the powder and crush it up really well. (A little mortar and pestle works great.) Then put all the shadow dust back into the pan it came in...or a different one of needed. Spray it down thoroughly with rubbing alcohol to where it makes a paste. Then take the flat end of your makeup brush (or something similar) spray it down with the alcohol just to sanitize it. Then pack your eyeshadow "paste" in the pan. Then let it dry. Voilá! Good as new AND it's been sanitized! You can do this with any powdered makeup. I've actually created some pretty cool eyeshadows and custom blush by mixing powders. My 5 year old granddaughter got ahold of my BRAND NEW $45 Urban Decay pallet last year and dropped it. 😳 It busted about half of the shadows but it was salvageable with that trick. 😁.
