if you want to see how they perform live i would recommend metfest from feuerschwanz, that video is a party and a half. so thx for your reaction it was a ton of fun :)

You really need to check out more Feuerschwanz (Foyer-Sh-wanz), their new album is my favourite album of 2021.. not a single dud song on the album.. "Memento Mori" and their cover of "Warriors of the world united" is simply sublime! Other outstanding tracks: Ding, Meister Der Minne, Das Elfde Gebot, I see Fire, Metfest, Malleus Maleficarum, Hier kommt Alex, Schubsetanz (original & Black metal version), Untot im Drachenboot, Ultima Nocte, Drogstea Din Tei & Die Hörner hoch. Oh you have to watch the making of Ultima Nocte, they have a good skit with the "bass" and it's hilarious. Funny you mention Amon Amarth, they do a cover of Twilight of the Thundergod on this album as well.

Feuerschwanz (Fire Tail) started in 2004 as a straight up parody band to the (sometimes overly) serious medival folk scene in Germany, with salacious lewd lyrics and suggestive stage names. They evolved to a more serious (in regards to the musicianship) medival folk metal group but kept the humorous attempt. Over the last 1,5 - 2 years they became more medival metal and had some more serious songs too. If you want to experience their silly side, check out the video to the cover of the 2004 summer hit Dragostea Din Tei (original by O-Zone) which dropped today. Yes, the halbass (half halberb half bass) is just a prop. The current line-up contains: Hauptmann Feuerschwanz (Captain Firedick [yes, different translation than the band name]), vocals & acoustic guitar, last remaining founding member Johanna von der Vögelweide (literally Johanna of Birdswillow, actual meaning Johanna of Screwmeadow) violin & hurdy gurdy Prinz R. Prettyhair, the H. is a placeholder as it is unclear if he was fathered by Hauptmann > Hauptmannsson or by Hodi > Hodisson) drums Mieze Myu (Kitty Meuw) dancer / stage & video preformer, she was also guest musician with her harp on some songs, credited under her real name Jenny Mieze Musch-Musch (Kitty Puss-Puss) dancer / stage & video preformer

you´re wrong on the "halbass" which is called by themselves a "thunderharp" and it is a real instrument they tinkerd together....

@@Metzwerg74 Yeah, I've heard the sound it makes... to call that an instrument is like calling me a singer just because I do singalong while driving my car, which I can do only when the windows are up, otherwise the birds would fall of the sky.
