Feuerschwanz (Fire Tail [Fire Dick]) was founded in 2004 as a straight up parody band to counterpart the (sometimes overly) serious German medieval folk scene. Their earlier material is full of suggestive lyrics & innuendos and they keep the tradition up until today with their ambiguous stage names. Over the years, they parted from the parody while keeping the humorous attempt (mostly) and added more and more rock & metal elements. Their original material is in German (with some latin here and there) but in 2020 they started doing cover songs in English (and others as we see here). The current line up consists of: Hauptmann Feuerschwanz (Captain Firetail [Firedick]), last remaining founding member, vocals, acoustic guitar, Irish bouzouki, Prinz Richard Hodenherz III (Prince R. Testicleheart III) called Hodi, vocals, bagpipes, shawm, tin whistle, acoustic guitar , Irish bouzouki, Johanna von der Vögelweide (Joan of Birdswillow [Joan of Screwmeadow]), violin, hurdy gurdy, to make a cover of this particular song was her suggestion, Hans der Aufrechte (Hans the Upright [Hans the Erect]), electric guitar, acoustic guitar, Jarne Hodinsson (Jarne Testisson), bass, Rollo H. Schönhaar (Rollo H. Prettyhair), drums, the newest member as their drummer of 16 years, Sir Lanzeflott (Sir Lancequick) had left mid 2021, Mieze Myu (Kitty Myow), back-up dancer / stage & video preformer, she was guest musician with her harp on a few songs under her real name Jenny, Mieze Musch-Musch (Kitty Puss-Puss) back-up dancer / stage & video preformer. Other covers for which they made videos: I See Fire (Ed Sheeran), the video referrences Game of Thrones and only features the two vocalists and Mieze Musch-Musch, so the live version featuring Thomas Winkler (formerly aka Angus McFife [as long as he was with Gloryhammer] now aka Angus McSix) is to prefer. Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (ABBA). Blinding Lights (The Weeknd). Warriors Of The World United (Manowar) featuring Melissa Bonny (from the symphonic metal band Ad Infinitum), Thomas Winkler and Saltatio Mortis (medieval metal band) represented by vocalist Alea der Bescheidene (Alea the Humble). Ding (Thing) feat Melissa Bonny, original by German based multi national dancehall/ reggae/ hip hop group Seeed. Hier Kommt Alex (Here Comes Alex), original by German punk rock group Die Toten Hosen (literally The Dead Pants, meaning The Deadbeats), title & lyrics referring to the novel A Clockwork Orange and it's movie version, this one features Mieze Myu/ Jenny on the harp. As you've metioned somewhere else you do like metal covers (and fantasy metal): Saltatio Mortis made a cover of The Dragonborn Comes (from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim) feat. Lara Loft (German singer & voice actress). The Dark Side Of The Moon (which is vocalist Melissa Bonny from Ad Infinitum, guitarist Hans Platz & harpist Jenny Diehl from Feuerschwanz and Danish drummer Morten Løwe Sørensen from the Swedish metalcore / trancecore band Amaranthe) made covers of: Jenny of Oldstones (Game of Thrones), May It Be (The Lord Of The Rings), feat Charlotte Wessels (former lead singer of the Dutch symphonic metal group Delain), original by Irish new age singer/ songwriter Enya, Double Trouble / Lumos (Harry Potter) feat. Rusanda Panfili (classical violinist from the Hans Zimmer live show orchestra).

7:59 About the WD-40. It is a reference to the 2021 new years eve album release live stream. Hauptman's armor was constantly creaking and squeaking. It was making so much noise every time he moved people in chat starting to suggest handing him some WD-40.

Sweet reaction. On concerts they introduce it as vikings go to vacation. There is also a live performance recording of this song of the recent 70000 Tons of Metal cruise. And their original songs are also epic!

Well I checked and Vikings actually went to Romania ! they met the valachian people ! (historically true) so even if sometimes people think it is just fun they should check first....

I think the true spirit of METAL is having a lot of fun ! ANd that is exactly what they do ! I You should also watch and listen to videos of other artists signed by the label Napalm Records like d'Artagnan; The dark side of the Moon; Ad Infinitum; and all of their partnerships like warriors of the world united, bastard von Asgard, and so on....

If you loved that and (obviously) love Skyrim you should checkout another German band called Saltatio Mortis. They put out two songs about Skyrim and are featured by Bethesda. Check out „The Dragonborn comes“ and „Pray to the hunter“!
