no drama? lol the Spain and Barcelona team from 2008-2012 was famous for their diving, play-acting, and getting the helping hand of the referees whenever they were in a tough situation and getting knocked out (2009 Chelsea scandal, 2011 Arsenal scandal, 2010 Busquets play-acting vs Inter, Spain/Barcelona doctor caught for doping in 2009-10 but all of this was conveniently forgotten and swept under the rug).

Love how the way national teams play usually reflects how football is played in their respective leagues. Spain always more technical and less physical like Laliga. England and Germany very physical and speed oriented like EPL and Bundesliga. Italy very defence based like Serie A.

If you heard it for the first time you'd think it was a swarm of bees flying around the stadium.

Casillas as the GK 💀 Ramos, Pique and Puyol in the Defense 💀 Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Pedro and Xabi Alsonso in the Midfield 💀 Torres and Villa in Forward. and on top of that team chemistry was 100%. this spanish team is undoubtedly the greatest international football team ever assembled.

No one knows how competitive it was compared to know it was harder in some aspects but not in others. Never discredit the past legendsry teams. Also brazil won in 2002 i would argue that was more dominant then spain after all spain only won 1 world cup in that time span not two . In my opinion brazil 2002 was more impressive

@@willsmithens5529 it was these subtle things that made all of Barcelona's and Spain's achievements questionable. 2009 Barcelona - Chelsea scandal. Without the help of the referee - there would be no treble for Barcelona nor would they even reach the UCL final. 2011 Barcelona - same story with the Arsenal scandal when Arsenal were leading 2-3 on aggregate with 35 minutes to go and the referee sent RvP off for nothing. 2010 Spain and Barcelona - caught for doping but all swept under the rug.

Actually, many Spain players were often afraid how the rivalry between Mourinho and Guardiola might tear up their superb team. Oh, and true, Capdevila consistently was the only Spain player not capped from Madrid or Barcelona, until Jordi Alba came around. Later, David Silva (and sometimes Torres) was that one player from another club/country.

This is the beggining of football changing. Germany was still playing lobbed long passes and always trying to get the ball upfield as fast as possible. Spain was just trying to maintain possession. Now nobody plays the way germany did here and everybody plays like Spain. The whole world of football changed after this wc.

Actually, remembering this World Cup, it was known back then to have produced soooo many tremendously boring matches, overall, with Germany's rapid counter attack playing style and three 4 goal matches with spectecular goals mostly being the only exception. I guess, most WCs have so many boring games but I really remember pundits back in 2010 being annoyed because every match was so boring, especially throughout the whole group phase.

@47:15 Germany should have had a clear penalty and it could have changed the game. @28:50 Ramos should have already been on a yellow bc he didn't even try to play the ball and he just focused on Podolski's foot.
