Definitely an own goal as I see it. The ball wasn't even likely on target, but her footwork and ball handling were as clumsy as an octopus in handcuffs. I'm not surprised that NC broke their road woes, I'm just surprised that it took so long, and against one of the hottest teams in the game. Typical NWSL madness I absolutely love it!!

Hatch has been invisible for a long time now. I wonder what happened at that USWNT camp, after it she was never the same: we have to ask Vlatko. Was she jinxed?

Somebody tell Spirit attackers that kicking the ball into the midsection of the GK has a low probability of success. Other than that, not a bad game, except for the amateur Kingsbury display.

Uhh, what happened? 1-Spirit a) look tired, no legs b) To many turnovers; out of the game!!! c) They played the last 10 minutes of the game the brand of soccer they have us used to; like winners but it was too late. d) Either for the heat or tired legs, they cheated themself of a good result. 2- Courage. a) Thet played it smart: calm, controlled the ball and the pace of the game. b) Nothing fancy, just practical. c) They looked focus in it. d) They were the better team Good for Sanchez, even though, that goal was all on Kingsbury (Spirit Goalkeeper). By the way, her chances of been the keeper of USWNT is looking far, far, farther away. While Cambell's chances (Houston) look very solid. Hopefully Kruger is fine from the tackle. When she was so close to make the USWNT she got injured, hopefully does not happen again.

The thing with Rodman is that -She creates her own chances, and she ruins it too. -On defense of Rodman, once in a while she puts good balls to her teammates, and they squandered it too. Conclusion: Shooting to the hands of the goalkeeper or skying the ball is a trade not of exclusive of Rodman but of almost every NWSL attacking players (exceptions; Smith and a few other). How can that be a) Bad Coaching all through their formative years: Academies and college. b) The mental element. No doubt they love the game but pause (check your emotions) before shooting 1- shoot on frame, not out. 2- Shoot low and to the corners, away from the keeper. 3- Practice it; how to check emotions when you kick the ball (there is a technique). 4- Shooting upper 90th is more complicated but can be done. Other than that, I totally enjoy the women's game.

That looks like a decent crowd - what's the average attendance in NWSL this season?

Successful teams usually draw bigger crowds. If WA goes on a skid, the attendance will reciprocate.

Highlight Rating: All highlights in order(2): 1 At least 5 minutes long(2): 2 All goals, penalty fouls and red cards shown with at least one replay(2): 2 Show lineup(2) or kickoff(1): 1 Show half-time whistle or 2nd half kickoff(1): 1 Show final whistle(2): 2 VAR decisions clear(1): 1 Highlights capture the game narrative(2): 2 12 of 14, not bad. No lineups and I took a point off for showing 2nd half kickoff twice. That might have been harsh.

If she would learn just one new trick she would have five more goals a year. Defenders know what she is going to do, which is always bad.

Rodman is one of the best forwards in the league and will be a starter for the USWNT in Paris. Every general manager in the league would give his or her right arm to have Rodman on their team.
