You need to mount the projector farther from the screen so it fills the screen vertically. The edges will go past the edge of the screen but in windows you can set a custom resolution to bring the edges to where your screen edges are. Gspro supports these custom resolutions and will then fill the screen.

Thanks, I am actually going to mount the provided projector with the 24:7 Golf kit when I do the review. I'll do some research and give this a try. Cheers!

My Man! Good to see you back up and running. Shout out to 24/7 for hooking you up. Look forward to the full review. One encouraging thing that I see - I remember you saying that your garage height is 8’6”. Looks like it fits fine and there didn’t look to be many issues during set up. Impact screen seems quiet too.

Yes it was a tight and creative squeeze for the height, but it fills the space nicely and I'm really enjoying the new look. Thanks for the support, cheers!

Glad you're back. I got a similar screen ratio with a 10x8. What I did to fill the screen was change the aspect ratio of the computer I'm running the software. While it sucks using the computer screen, it's great for giving a full, immersive picture on the sim. If you are using the pc only for the sim, that shouldn't matter. It will mean, though, that you'll have to move the projector into a position that favors the new ratio. TBH, I like the 10x8 ratio more than the standard 9:6 because it feels more like the real thing.

I like to consider myself pretty tech savvy and handy, but I'm still just dumbfounded on projectors. With the livestreams and all the sources I'm running, I have to be at 16:9 for the video. Which from what my dumb math brain can determine is I would actually need roughly a 14' x 8' screen if I want a full image. It is just one of those elements of building a sim that some people may not realize or plan for. I plan to do some "building a sim basics" informational videos in the future. Happy for any suggestions, cheers!

@@GolfOnTap It's not the projector you're changing. The projector is simply a "monitor" for your pc/laptop. if you change resolution of the computer to match the screen on which you're displaying the image, you can completely fill the screen without "bars". I understand it can sound complicated but it really isn't. Message me if you'd like some direct guidance.

Couple things: 1)Go Bills! Are you in Buffalo?! Probably need a buddy to hit some golf balls all winter, with that nice setup! Ha 2) what are the specs of your computer to run GSPro. Thanks !

The better half is straight up Bills Mafia, but she got tired of the snow so we are down south. GSPro is does require a decent computer with a decent graphics card. I do run all my stuff on my 5 year old MSI G65 stealth laptop though. Hope that helps, cheers!

you can change the settings on your pc and make the image fill the screen not that it doesnt look great cause it does i am just sharing if you have nvidia on your pc you can change the aspect ratio there to fill the screen no matter the screen size or shape. Thanks for sharing btw great video working on my simulator as i type

Quick reply, because yes I'm a night owl. I'm working on a video to explain my point (and still very self admitted dummy on this subject), but essentially... yes I did and can manipulate aspect ratios to fill the impact screen with a full image. That works well for the golf simulator but if you want to do anything else on another source (roku, netflix, etc)... it makes it weird to watch since for the most part 1080p it the norm nowadays. That's just my take, glad to learn more... cheers and congrats on the sim!

8'6" ceiling looks to restrict your full driver swing and follow though. I know this is what you have to work with, but you will never be able to fully maximize your swing worrying about hitting the ceiling on your follow though. Great music and editing, although.

Yeah, I know it's on the shorter end height wise and being the first swing with driver on the new arrangement of the simulator I think I definitely "bailed out". I have an old Titleist 909 that I might just swing with until I build some bit of confidence that it is "safe". Also, thanks for the compliment on the video. I've self-taught all this myself and it takes a lot of time... means a lot. Cheers!

@@GolfOnTap I was going to ask a similar question. How tall are you and with the 8' 6" ceiling, do you have plenty of clearance with your swing? How much space is there between the top of the enclosure and the ceiling? Looks like your 54 degree wedge hit just inside the top of the inside of the enclosure. Have you tried a 60 degree?

  • @GolfOnTap

@@mindbusiness9734 Hey! Sorry for the delay... I am 6 feet tall and there is about a 2 inch gap from the top of the enclosure to the ceiling. I personally can swing all clubs, although I do always have a bit of nervousness with the driver. I feel like I can go up to 5 wood length confidently. Although I have had some friends nip the ceiling with their longer clubs/swing. Anything more lofted than a 48 degree does tend to hit the top of the enclosure resulting in a bit more of a bounce back. However, this is a result of MY setup with my hitting area being further back at about 14 feet. If I hit a ball within 8 feet of the screen it does not hit the top even with a 60. Hope that helps, cheers!
