Ғылым және технология

If you are using a micro 4/3 sensor or a crop sensor camera, chances are that you are tempted to go full frame every now and then. Well, if you want to put an end to those thoughts and start enjoying photography without those concerns, the Mitakon f0.95 or the more recent 7Artisans f0.95 are the lenses that you want on your camera.

Love mine. Pairs really nicely with the X-E4 which makes it like a Leica M11 with a 50mm Summilux. Modified mine to have a more dampened aperture ring. Mine's sharp and minimal fringing at 0.95. Very easy and fast to manual focus actually. Love to use it even more than the Mitakon 65mm on the GFX 50R I use for work.

Very nice! You told me about this lens when you got it and I was thinking about it ever since 😅 The 56 1.2 is a good "you don't need a full frame camera" lens as well! 😁

Great review! I have the 7artisans 50mm f/0.95 for the X-T20. I love it! Still getting used to the manual focus though. It's a bit of a challenge to get spot on when it wide open.

i use both fuji and sony ff. i prefer using my fuji most of the time for jus simple street shoots. and fuji colors are just great, you can just sooc jpg post without editing. Sony on the other hand is much heavier and bigger. But i use both cameras for different purposes. Fuji is mostly light casual street, while Sony is for work. I encourage people to try out different system and sensor size before finalizing what they really need and want. so yea both has their pros and cons. and i still will use FF because its easier to get bokeh and dof (because i want it), and it has better lowlight,DR and resolution for me. while fuji i just shoot for colors, thats it

I 100% agree with you in using multiple camera systems - I am very often working with Canon and Panasonic cameras. For me, it's not necessary to switch to FF for pro work, but I understand some may need it.

I had the same temptation last year, went to the store but came back with the fuji xf33f1.4. My girlfreind said i was reasonable. So last month i had a new fullframe temptation ,went to the store and came back with the 56f1.2 wr ,this time my girlfreind look at me with funny eyes 🙄😊

your channel is going to be expensive for me. Just watched the X-H2 video and really like the look of it. Using an X-T3 at the moment and thinking of upgrading. Also just got a good deal on a second hand 7Artisans f.95 while watching this video. Nice relaxed pace of video in a world full of chaotic energy :)

Hi. Great video, which led to me buying one for my X-T2 :) I have one question though, regarding barrel distortion. Not really sure how much distortion there is. Just wanted to check with you if you perhaps have any tip on how much adjustment is needed? Greatly appreciate it.

You are making me think about that f.95 lens again. I had a few manual focus lenses long ago before my Fuji. I missed focus sometimes and it was frustrating. With the x-h2 viewfinder and focus assist is it a bit easier? By the way, don’t apologize for your English. It’s great and adds charm.

  • @carlosdomi

Hey Richard, thank you! and yes, the focus assist does make it a lot easier. However, you will still miss focus often if you are on the move, or if the subject moves (at f1 its hard to know if you are focusing on the iris or the eyelashes, for example). Still a lovely lens to have for those days when you want something bit more "creative" and less perfection.

indeed! the Mitakon is available for several brands in both full frame (50mm) and APS-C format (35mm). The 7Artisans tho is only available in APS-C, as far as I know.

Broooo stop with these Fuji temptations. I’m an avid Sony shooter here because it works best for my video/photography business, but the Sony cameras are really uninspiring. The shots you’ve been getting with this manual lens is insane.. I love the unclean look. Sony’s have become near perfect in terms of image quality and it doesn’t work for me.

A look is created by the lens and not the sensor. If you want to “full frame look’ on Fujifilm, try the XF 50mm f1. It will give you the look you are after in spades. There is one problem, though, with achieving the full frame look, and that is the full frame size and weight.
