GGG really is a classy fighter, measured, tactical and when he does something the ref disapproves of, instead of shouting about it he holds his hand in front of his chest and bows in apology. I mean how many modern boxers would show such humility in the ring during a heated fight?

Lemieux is a tough fighter - somehow he stayed standing after that last liver shot. What a great stoppage by Willis. It was hard to see from the back, but Lemieux was about to get seriously hurt.

Lemieux expended twice the energy as GGG. It is only a matter of time. starting round 8, Lemieux slowing down big time, and GGG went to work.

GGG is one of the cleanest boxers I have ever watched.

Lemieux actually gave the ref a quick look after that body shot as a hint to stop it.

If someone says that Triple G is a puncher with no skills or defence, make them watch this fight. Patience of a surgeon. His defence is in distance, why make flashy moves, that drain energy if you can simply step back or roll woth a shoulder. Lemieux probably tagged him 10 times at most. Why make flashy combos hoping something will hit, if you can feel out your opponent with a jab and when it snaps you complete it with a measured right hand, that will land for sure. Utter brilliance. Too bad he came to america so late

Basically what I saw, GGG patiently trying to find his right hand and later mixing in hook and uppercut. I think he definitely could have got there quicker though, couldn't maintain the right positioning on lemieux.

Tali l other way round, Jacobs fought him at 35 Canelo dropped to 154 and lost his WBC belt 8 years ago so that he wouldn’t have to fight GGG, and when he did fight him at 36 & 37 they were still in wars, why is Canelo suddenly ducking him now , waiting till he’s 40?

Mid thirties to late thirties the decline is even faster. I'm not saying Canelo didn't do well or not win 1 of 2 of those matches or taking anything away from him. A lot of people talk about the jab in this fight, I don't think Golovkin landed as many punches as people think and I'm not sure the jab is responsible for the effects people are seeing. Most of the jabs GGG's throwing in the fight look to me like they're just set ups for the right hand he wasn't throwing, Lemieux just kept moving out of position whenever he could see GGG was lining up something like that. I didn't think Lemieux was getting hit with the jab that much and he stopped GGG from throwing that right hand for a few rounds at least and easily blocked most of them.

@@KevinCoxner he should’ve gotten at least an extra 10 seconds to recover on the real though. Punches that clean when a fighters down is typically a DQ, that shouldn’t have been but the requirement then is to give him some time to recover

I will forever respect BOTH these fighters. Lemieux lost the fight 3 rounds before the stoppage but never once gave up trying to win. GGG honored that courage by carrying him and gifting him the chance to make a miracle. Manly valor on full display. 👏👏👏

Also, how incredibly brave was Lemieux to take this fight?? He did not have to. Genady was the terror of the division. He was ending careers. Yet Lemieux stepped up. Give the guy credit for going out on his shield. GGG plastered him all over the ring, the poor chap.

I love Lemeiux. A true warrior. He could have had ggg disqualified from that punch after the knockdown but he is a man of honor. Adrian Broner did that against Maidana. He is not a man of honor.

Lemieux is tough as balls, GGG is so amazing, Willis is the best ref in the game, and this video without announcers is perfection.

This cracked me up 22:15 the 2nd time Lemieux complains and asks Steve Willis “Behind the head?” Willis says “You’re alright. Keep your head straight!” This basically means stop complaining and stop turning your head to the side which is giving GGG a behind the head target. Steve Willis is a boss.

Yes David was getting bit up but he still had a fight in him, he was still defensively alert & could still slip, block & parry some punches and was shooting bombs in there. I'm glad my man GGG won, but as a boxer I'm a little upset. I'm sure GGG ain't satisfied coz his momentum got cut off just as it was starting & DL though outclassed would still feel he had a thing to prove...

This fight makes me have even more respect for Golovkin as a boxer. Lemieux must have one of the strongest punch in his class, he is brave and has a chin. But GGG was relentless. His jab was perfect, accurate. His movement around the ring was also perfect, managing the distance. It was just too much for David. Rspect for both

GGG's face at 30:03 and how he walked off-- scary af. That was a different person.

The referee was perfect!!! Pra jogar contra o GGG tem que se estar com a defesa (defense) muito em dia, senão vai passar sufoco, como aconteceu com o Lemieux. Muito difícil vencer o Golovkin... excelente boxer!!! Um dos melhores que eu já vi atuar.

That left hook in round 4 just shows how powerful Golovkin is. Lemieux is known as one of the hardest hitters in the division and when they both connected, Lemieux was rocked hard and Golovkin just walked straight through it

. Great fight, GGG is such a powerful boxer. You can also see why Leemieux held a belt. The Referee was the best, you can see his care, for HIS boxers. They will live to fight another day. He showed why boxing is a skill, not a blood sport.

I wish every fight had a no commentary option 🙏🙏

honestly when steve willis is the ref just watching him watch the fight and ref is just as entertaining as the fight

When you watch the replay at the end Lemieux was badly hurt with a brutal body shot, winces and looks at the ref as if to say ' stop it, I've had enough' Great referee is Steve Wills. Watch his face, feels every punch thrown lol!

Golovkin's subtle defence in this fight was excellent. And - full marks to the referee, who was keeping a VERY close eye on Lemieux until he stopped it.

You can see Lemieux's defensive potential in the beginning of the third but he keeps freezing up when his rhythm is interrupted lol. Hats off to GGG

This was a competitive fight until GGG LANDED THAT MONSTER PUNCH. GGG was something different in his prime.

Finally decent quality.. What a fight
