The way they presenting this is kinda funny, it makes it look like Loz did 9 reps for absolutely no reason. But, wouldn't he have gone before Best, Oberst, and Bjornsson? So he wouldn't know that they were going to do so few reps

Loz just having a mental breakdown and forgetting to stop squatting before blowing his quad out

I think it was on Loz' channel when he was interviewing Colin where they talked about this. Loz was offered some money per rep off camera to put on a good show given that they knew he could squat the weight and the rest of the heat had struggled. They actually show him bang out the reps in the UK Version that is no longer on youtube, and he looked great until the injury happened. Colin apologized of course, but you could tell there is no bad blood between them and I'm sure they've had that conversation before. 😂😂
Why was Long Wu competing 😶? Because he's from China and WSM needed a local 🤔? Anyway: Too bad Loz got injured 😕 Would have been an interesting battle between him and Oberst 💪! Nami's Truck Pulling performance was really impressive, too - also you can see that Hafthor was strong at this point, but he wasn't "championship material" in 2013.

I don't think there is anything wrong with inviting a local when the comp is taking place in a country where strongman isn't very popular...

@@sagebauer1077 the problem with that is there lots of people who could have made it to the finals that didn't get a opportunity

They also had Gu Yan Li in 2005 and 2006 when they were in China before. Yeah they probably could have had someone who would have put up more of a fight but I'm sure it's not bad PR in China for Strongman to have a local involved and heats typically aren't completely stacked. They've done it elsewhere as well in years past. Bernard Rolle in Nassau back in 1995 comes to mind. Granted, he won an event, and even made a second appearance in 1997.

They didn't mention this in the broadcast but the truck had some kind of problems with the brakes. Nami was the last to pull after they had fixed it. Everyone else was pulling that truck with the brakes on.

mitchellhughes Someone got injured last minute and there wasn't enough time for someone else to go through the visa process. Long Wu agreed to do it on very little notice. He knew he was out matched, but still did his best.
Good Event
Nick Best is NOT 6'2, he is 5'11. Look at him standing next to Eddie Hall who is 6'2"

He's also like 50, with multiple back surgeries. He's even said multiple times that he was 6'2, and has lost about 2inches from back injuries and surgeries

Eddie’s 6’2 is also questionable, strongmen’ listed height changes by inches from competition to competition
Long wu being there makes no sense

I would imagine that had something to do with China demanding an athlete for representation. He was a token spot lost to bureaucracy taken from someone more deserving.

These videos were just too short and I liked the UK versions better
Pretty uneventful heat! Other than Chalet blowing a quad on his 10th squat rep when he only needed 3, it was pretty dull!

There is a Long Wu who became the first ever IFBB pro bodybuilder from China and has (apparently) a huge social media following. I assume it’s the same guy.
