My xt5 has grey out setting for film stimulation how would I change that?

Only thing I can think of right now is your Mode Dial might be set to ADV - that’s the only position where the film simulations aren’t available.

So if i have auto update DISABLED and if I make a few changes to the settings, reset does the same as turning the camera off and back on? Or are changes preserved after turning camera off and on?

Actually I am interested how x-t5 and x-t50 behave in this respect. X-s10 erases changes if turned off but does not have reset option.

If it's disabled, any changes you make will be reset when the camera power is cycled. That's how it works on the X-T5 and I imagine how the X-T50 will behave also. You only need to use the Reset function if you want to reset your changes without cycling camera power.

@@ziga1218 yeah, it was one of the primary reasons I switched to Nikon last year for my working camera system.
