Wordford Reserve is very fine bourbon. I may not be the only person to point that out but it needs to be said. Focus as applied directly to wedding photographers and continuous focus in particular would perhaps be helpful. Also, I use an L bracket because the Godox V860ii is much too heavy to put atop the camera. Enjoying your channel. Thanks.

I will become a Patreon sponsor soon - let’s start there. Over the past 30+ years of my career I’ve spent large chunks of it training students on technology. This is not about me however, it’s about you - you have a certain knack for teaching that keeps people engaged and learning. I wasn’t so sure about you at first (it was the video with the Jawa) but I watched it to the end and I loved it. You’re the perfect balance of nerdy (no offense meant), knowledgeable, and charismatic. I’ve been shooting on Nikon cameras since I was a teen - I was obsessed with the ads in National Geographic. I worked for Agfa for many years and I was worldwide support for their first digital SLR. But your exuberance for the Fuji platform has now brought me into the XT-4 world - I just received my first camera last week and I’m loving it! All of this is a very long winded way of saying that you’re doing a really good job on KZread, so please keep going!

I used to use single point all the time, but recently I started using multi-point + continuous focus mode on the front lever. It gives a really satisfying "locked on target" behavior while doing focus-and-recompose. I guess for a studio situation the focus might be a little less precise than single point, but for less controlled environments I've got the bonus of already tracking.

I always send your vids to friends, and save them in my memos for quick access. I got a very clean Fuji 16mm 1.4 in the mail last week. No manual. When I shifted the collar to manual focus, I found even with my back screen magnified, I could never tell if I was in focus. And I could not make anything go really out of focus, even when at 1.4. It might make an interesting video.

Thank you for posting this video! I just switched over to Fuji from Canon and the one area I’m having a tough time figuring out is the auto focus. On my Canon, if I pointed my camera at any scene on auto focus and half pressed the shutter it would guess and auto focus at a certain single point of the scene. If I didn’t want that point to be the focus I could just tap the screen to readjust to a different point. I understand you can move the focus point and tap to adjust on Fuji, but I am having a hard time figuring out on single point focus how to get it to “guess” where the auto focus should be first. If I am on autofocus I would think I should be able to aim my camera at a baseball bat, and it auto select to focus at the tip of the bat, but if I wanted it to instead focus on the handle, I should be able to tap the handle to refocus there. The only mode that seems to guess the focus is Wide on Fuji, but I can’t then tap on a specific part of the scene to focus on that instead. Could you please explain how to achieve that? It seems fairly simple to me but written out sounds a lot more complicated! Thanks for all your help!

Great video! It would be great if you could make a video on Face/Eye Autofocus. Whenever I use that, it focuses on the Face/Eye area, but the problem is that exposure is also set based on the face area only and if the background is bright it gets overexposed. Is there any way to use Face/Eye autofocus and set exposure from Multi metering mode? Thank you!

Hi Chris, will you review the X-E4? Curious to your thoughts. I first didn't like it but am starting to think it is actually a great entrypoint into Fuji and a lightweight travel camera, eg combined with pancake or xc lenses, while still having high quality sensor and video capabilities - a successor/upgrade to the X-A* series.

Great channel great videos, thank you.I see another channel that exposed for a bright sky then lowered the camera to street level and then focused and shot a silhouette stile picture. How can I do this with Fuji do I unlock exposure from focus (interlock off) then use the AEL button under "switch" setting to lock the exposure using bright sky.Lower my camera to street level focus on a half press and shoot. Two problems I have is AEL does not seem to work for a reason I cannot fathom, it is set up for AEL and not any other setting. My other issue is according to what is in your video it will expose for the centre of the frame.Hope this makes sense and if it does I would appreciate a point in the right direction.Learning so much from you please write a book and publish on Kindle. Thanks again. Ok solved I had to go button dial setting and turn AE off.Simple when you know how 🤭

Thank You so much for another Super Fast Friday!:) I have a question somehow related to the topic. I have found that when I am using a zoom lens in Video mode , even when my aperture is closed (lets say to F16), still when I am zooming in and out, I see that my frame is adjusting the brightness (as if it normally does with all NOT fixed aperture Zoom lenses). I was thinking that by closing my aperture way more than the actual range within which the steps should be visible (lets say on Fujinon 55-200 from F3,5 till F4,8) I would avoid seeing those flickering steps. Unfortunately I do not have any of the fixed aperture zoom lenses to see how they perform but maybe You could advise or comment on that :) Thank You so much!

I have a question, does the focus points correlate to phase detect pixels on the sensor? Or something like that? If that is true and you switch to the lower amount of points, but have a big focusing square, one that would cover several focus points when you had 400+ points turned on, will it still use the same amount of phase detect pixel to gain focus? Not sure that was understandable.

Hey P2T, I don't really understand how it is any different than manual back button auto focus with focus and exposure locking in the same way for composition. Is the only difference that the trigger is a shutter button rather than the AE or AF buttons? What the difference between M focus on the dial and S? I've literally heard a KZreadr say I don't use it, I don't touch, it, I don't know a anything about it. But I've always wondered if there's some secret technique only S can do.

Grazie per i tuoi video, sono fatti davvero bene, ma per gli utenti che non sono di madrelingua inglese, e che usano i sottotitoli, ti prego di parlare un poco più lentamente, perche molte volte non capisco quello che dici. Grazie

You must have surely, somewhere. On my X-S10 I simple press the MENU/OK button, scroll to the SHOOTING menu (camera icon on left), scroll down to page 2 and the Photometry setting is about half way down. Hope that helps.

It's on the top dial. Rotate the top dial below where you set your shutter speed.

Thank you all. It is on the top dial... not in the menu!
