This just choked me up..I lost my Mom on December 1, 2020 and it completely broke my heart. She was only 71. I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom. It's a pain like no other..I miss mine every single day.. ❤️🥺

This is beyond words, one of the best live performances I have ever seen, and I don't particularly like Fuel or Elton John.

I can never get enough of the rasp in Brett's voice and the true emotion the way he sings this cover. It just gets my heart pounding so much!! Daniel is a star in the sky!! He sure is!! I miss him so much! I truly think this is the best cover ever!!

I was floored by this. I was listening to the prerecorded version on Fuel's album and came upon this. This live version sounds even better than the prerecorded one. Amazing job by Brett.

I just want to say.. I saw fuel at Nashville City Winery the other day. I've always been a huge fan but when I heard Brett Scallions sing live, it changed my life forever. This cover is so amazing. I play it over and over. It gives me goosebumps.

You really can't compare Elton John and Brett Scallions. Two different vocalists with two very amazing voices. When you know a vocalist has nailed a cover, is when you feel the same as you do when you hear the original. This song gives you just that.

This is up there with Chris Cornells cover of "Nothing Compares" as my favorite grunge covers

This is amazing. The power in his voice back then was untouchable. His voice is kinda like Adam of 3DG. Unique.

Powerful. This is one of my favorite Elton songs, and this version is a great interpretation of the original. I think you captured and expressed a lot of what he probably felt at the time.

The passion was everywhere, perfect for his voice. No offense but I actually prefer Brett's cover to the original by EJ.

Anyone who's lost a brother or a person close to them will feel this. It's so hard isn't it??? Sometimes not being able to have them here. Don't doubt there's something after this life. I believe energy goes on. You're gonna see your loved ones again someday. I'm just certain of it. Of course I could be wrong but I don't think I am.

Years on the road. Voice trashed, but the spirit is there. Such feel. Every note hit. Best cover version I've ever seen oh oh and.... As a vocalist, it hurts so good. My wife and I come home after gigs just to re-listen. Great job. If you ever need a bass player, let me know. JAM-out

my stepdad is my childhood bully but one thing he did that was cool was to learn this guitar because he knew I liked this cover and he liked the original and the cover (15 years ago) we jammed it one or twice and it wasn’t great but I felt like I had a dad for a bit doing it. When he dies I’ll sing this at his funeral.

You can see it by searching "Snow Storm 12/26/2010" I never knew Brett covered this tune but it grabbed me because it is better than the original or perhaps just an updated LIVE version... Love it... i have enjoyed this song since i got it from limewire way back in the day. but watching this i just realized he says eyes have 'lied' instead of 'died'. it shows two things: 1. brett did not bother to check the lyrics of a favorite song this would not really be a big deal, except... 2. that single word is the defining meaning of the song: from wiki: Bernie Taupin wrote "Daniel" while inspired by the events of the Vietnam War. The lyrics (including a verse in the original draft that was cut from the final version) describe a fictional veteran who was blinded as a result of the war ("your eyes have died"/"but you see more than I") and travels to Spain to escape those around him back home ("do you still feel the pain"/"of the scars that won't heal?"), including his brother, from whose point of view the story is told.[5] "'Daniel' had been the most misinterpreted song that we'd ever written," explained Taupin, in the Two Rooms tribute project. "The story was about a guy that went back to a small town in Texas, returning from the Vietnam War. They'd lauded him when he came home and treated him like a hero. But, he just wanted to go home, go back to the farm, and try to get back to the life that he'd led before. I wanted to write something that was sympathetic to the people that came home." so clearly brett does not know the history of the song. someone should really tell him this. it distracts me now.

Just because someone doesn't know the full meaning of their favorite song doesn't mean it's not their favorite song. I get what your saying, but it doesn't mean that he is lying about it being his favorite song tho

I would assume he changed it for his own personal reasons. It's obvious that's what Elton is singing so it's not as if he misheard it.
