Man, the 2000s were unbelievable. I was born in 1996 and I feel like I both witnessed the "analog" and the "digital" way of living. The analog one where you arrange a time in school when you want to meet your friend to play soccer, the digital one where the PCs are slowly getting more advanced for more beautiful and complex games. To me, the 2000s mark the "bridge" from the analog to the digital age. Every day felt exciting as if you were an explorer. I am so grateful... thanks mom and dad.

Same story here. '99 kid who started on my dad's SNES, then n64 and so on so forth. I think growing up in this time really gave us an appreciation for the tech as it got better and better because we saw were it started as. Nowadays I think it's way too easy for people to take the modern systems, PCs and other tech for granted with how good its all gotten.
@benover2786

@@TurtleOSX Most definetly. Funny how presently, people as old as us had to struggle with videogames, we couldn't look something up online as easily as kids and young adults can now. Or even how limited the internet at the time was; we couldn't have videos on youtube in 1080fps nor were Xbox or Playstation online gaming experiences as advanced as they are now. Its really crazy to see how much we've aged and how long it has been since the older days of the n64 and the Xbox or first playstation. I never played an n64 in my youth. Only when I was roughly 18, but I loved that console to death.

There's also some songs I've heard recently that also give off the same vibe of early 2000's style of Avril Lavigne, Colbe Caillait, Morissette, etc. Our concept of "era" I feel can be too containing; we gotta remember aesthetics don't have to be limited to a time period and can just come back around whenever.

I miss 2004-2007. It was such a unique time that I didn't realize at the time would one day be over. I remember all the games, movies, music, and feel for that time. Also the way people acted online was different. Ghosting wasn't a thing everyone was so amazed by the internet back then, friendly and social. Some of the technology was actually better back then. I've literally seen super cool things that were high quality and seamless get lost in time and replaced with complete garbage. You know when archeologists find old technology or inventions and can't figure out how it was made or done? It's already happened in the last 20 years already.
I am lucky to be born when I was. I’ll be turning 30 this year. I got to see the tail end of the pre internet world, the adoption of so many revolutionary technologies, the evolution of the early internet into what it has become now (yes, it was better then) but it allowed me to create context in this world I would have never otherwise gotten if I was born later. But I was still born late enough to remember how things used to be. Before the algorithmic endless novelty and the economic and cultural decline of the country. Before social media or internet at all. There was a simplicity in that life that is now dead. How our loss of privacy and freedom has lead to endless conformity and the loss of individuality. People are afraid to be different now and actions are now permanent and immortalized. With that said the new generation has a kindness to them that gives me hope for the future still.
Frutiger Aero was my whole childhood growing up and I’d do anything to go back, it’s always give me nostalgia😭😭😭
