Being a kid in the 90s wasn't bad if I could do it again trust me I would so many things I missed out on growing up because getting money was kind of harder then back when I remember my Gameboy Advance and yeah it did felt different back then. I felt a lot happier being a kid then I realized being older is ruining it entirely nothing can replace what I had growing up now we got SmartTVs instead of CRT TVs or PlasmaTVs yeah it did feel like another dimension in the early 2000s a lot of cool stuff was in that age now technology keeps getting even more expensive almost impossible to buy.

Yessss I was only 15 in 2007 if I could wake up in 2007 again I'd fix some minor mistakes I made growing up now I know better who to be friends with and who not to be friends with Windows 7 was the king and always will be Microsoft is foolish to discontinue it I'm refusing to upgrade from Windows 10. Just for the fact you can actually make it look like Windows 7 with Windows 11 it's a bit complicated the layout is fair but the floating menu screen irritates the hell out of me. The bonus side you don't have the highlighted task menu which is a plus it sounds like Microsoft is TRYING to go back the original route with a modern type feel. Windows XP sadly was my childhood not a whole lot going on back then everything now is kind of a bit cooler. Plus I don't want to go through all that hell I went through in School I got put in a lot of bad Schools but it was the only option available I wasn't doing nothing really bad happened like me being expelled which I was always friendly and out going. We moved a lot and it caused all of my grades to flunk this is what I'm really pissed about because even if I was smart and disabled the Louisiana School system said they would end up failing me anyway and not getting my highschool diploma. You can blame the School system for the way I'm paranoid to today I really don't know who to trust from those events but I would still like to go back to 2007 and fix some mistakes.

@@gdawg1585The 2000s represents a period of the mass adoption of consumer devices. The 2010s imo are all about the growing access and usage of the internet. The 2020s seem to be about the development of AI algorithms and robot automation, that we may soon enter the “imagination age”. The 2000s do in a way sort of represent the very beginning of a significant part of our history. Technology wasnt necessarily all that powerful, but people are noticing it, and for the first time most people can afford it. They are thinking about the future and how it might change things. Frutiger Aero reflects that, its a visualisation of what we thought the endpoint would be. A time of transition between the 90s and 2010s, between a lack of and an abundance of consumer tech.

i wanna go back to when my local shopping centre had demos of mario kart wii on display, and when the tv aisle of a tech store felt like stepping into the future. sometimes i wonder if overexposure to technology has ruined the nostalgia of early 2000s futurism, but then i listen to music like this and i remember: no, it’s not overexposure. it’s underexposure, and it’s replacement with the currently trendy minimalism

It's fascinating how we're at a point where we can look back to this mid-to-late 2000s time period with nostalgia and can pinpoint a specific aesthetic to it. Although, I remember initially hating the transition into these aesthetics having grown up in the 90s. It was too clean and shiny (looking at you, Windows Vista, Apple and Wii-era video games) and I started missing the eclectic weirdness that came before, especially in the gaming world (GameCube, my beloved weirdo). But now I can be at peace with it and I'm sure today's popular aesthetics will receive a similar treatment in a decade or two.

Frutiger Aero which is a design style or internet aesthetic for UI/UX that was popularized through Windows Vista and Windows 7 and its personalization feature called "Windows Aero" which allowed opaque window title bars, Windows flip 3d when you Windows-Key + tab, window snapping, Aero peeking the desktop, and many many more features as Windows 7 released and Windows 8 came on.

I was surprised when I compared the 2000s and 1950s and found many similarities in these decades. Both of these decades have tried to instill optimism and faith in a bright future in citizens. Look at the advertising posters and you will see that they depict contented and happy people. Look at the interior and design of these two decades, they are both made in a futuristic way: Futuristic furniture, computers, phones from the late 90s and 2000s; and futuristic cars, furniture, household appliances, buildings from the 1950s. Both decades had their own idea of the "energy of a bright future": In the 1950s it was nuclear energy, and in the 2000s it was ecological hydrogen. Both of these decades were remembered for their high economic stability and glamorous fashion. In both decades, there were three-dimensional logos of all objects and things ranging from advertising labels to corporate logos. In both decades, they dreamed that the future was about to come, it only remained to wait a little bit. And then compare how already in the 1960s and 2010s all these dreams of the future were destroyed due to crises and cultural explosions. After that, you start to believe in the cyclical nature of history and events.

@@cezlock8209 I'm playing around with Windows 7 I might have to get an emachine or something and turn my Desktop into a Steam Machine I already thought about going back as much as possible people are too afraid to use them because they believe they're vulnerable. If you don't do anything stupid on your computer you should be fine modern browsers offer a descent amount of protection even without updates everything is as upgraded as it can get newer versions of Windows are just a gimmick and for looks to feel modern I'd rather find a copy of Windows XP and use the basic features so I can feel like I'm time traveling dual booting is amazing it can turn your PC into a digital time machine.

Even though I was pretty young in the 2000s, there just something so nostalgic about it. Everything looked how this music sounds if that makes sense. It was a lot better back then, this music just makes you feel like everything might just be alright, it reminds you of simpler times that’s why.

I have some friends who like to play around with computers a lot since they were little. I sometimes regret not venturing far into the internet like they did and I think mostly reason why was of "frutiger aero" because its manufactured. Back then it was the equivalent of the modern day faux-community that corporation use nowadays. It was the go-to for internet stuff and me being a toddler didn't know about "subscribing" or "comments" or any other website other than youtube or cut the rope. The ladder of which was the only thing I used the family pc for when it was switched to windows 8 and if you were around for the time you know how terrible it was to navigate. Nowadays I see frutiger aero as my version of the mid 2000's and early 2010's.

Don't worry bro, it will come back! Since ~2014 we are re-living an alternate version of the late Memphis aesthetics (late '80s / early '90s), with its cold minimalism, simplicity, flatness. But I can already see early Y2K styles trickling in. In 10-15 years everything's going full Aero again for a decade, mark my words!
