I'm impressed the devs actually thought of unique endings for "no able-bodied workers" or "only kids left". Those endings are so specific I doubt anyone has ever gotten them without deliberately trying, in an actual fail state you're far more likely to lose to Hope/Discontent problems first.

Geesh that sucks. During the final stretch of the storm I had people working around the clock to make sure we had enough coal and rations, and I got the message that the city was at the cusp of a revolt several times. I managed to knock the discontent down by making an example of a few of the dissidents, propaganda and patrols and just generally throwing people in jail, but I never knew how close I came to being executed when it was almost over.

Use tesla city and the fisheries as steam core and food outposts. Then research advanced coal mines, automaton integration, and efficiency. Then make 3 or more automatons to run your mines. Then let all the people who arent working in medical posts and infirmarys stay home. You should be fine then.

HAHA! Sounds like you were a real communist dictator bro. Me, i went with religion and automatons cuz i wanted the good ending. I can;t imagine how it would have been without the robots and the outpost at Tesla city that produces cores. I guess you can still make a few automatons from the cores you find in map events, but not enough to run all your industry. Then again i guess you can run all your industry with people if you make enough steam hubs. Interesting challenge, perhaps i will try an automaton-less run. In my good ending with faith and saving all the people from map events i managed to save 653 people and all my factories were running with robots. Only workers were in the cookhouses and infirmaries. The fishing village and Tesla city outposts definitely help you get the best ending.

@@mancamiatipoola Faith path isn't necessary a good ending, and the same goes for Order. "Bad ending" in terms of regimes happen on both paths if you go far enough along either of them.

My very first actual playthrough of the game I accidentally became a dictator, lol. I still cant believe I survived that storm. I executed like 2 or 3 people during it to keep the discontent down while all my people where starving and freezing to death.

Never underestimate a guy with a cane. Canes are serious weapons. Far better than any other legal weapon that you can take, honestly (and about 100x better than nunchucks, which are illegal in many places despite being one of the worst weapons ever). And this is real life. ...Now imagine what would happen if they were STEAMPUNK CANES. Whatever that means. I mean, yes, that ending kinda requires that you NOT give people steampunk limb replacements. But imagine they had them.

The problem is that I'm too lenient. I never fully go down the Purpose lines because I don't wish to become a despotic Messiah or an absolute dictator, I never use Child Labour and I always try and please the people. You can imagine how that works out: I never have enough Hope, and my resources are always low as hell.

@@neelrama5938 Presumably, kids cannot operate the machines that need engineers to run. It becomes a much more rapid Lord of the Flies where everyone dies within a week at most.

Question: could you perhaps also do all ending? What I mean is that something like the fall of Winterhome can have the entire dreadnought filled, or maybe only part of it, if you would be willing to play that hellishly difficult game scenario

My first run was a banishment from low hope, three hours away from victory in A New Home, it was pain

My brother somehow got the child ending one time. I don't remember much of how it happened but he became a dictator.

Didn't become a Tyrant *yet*. I still have a bit of empathy left for the people, but I have a feeling as soon as I play on survivor... yeah

If you're at the point where you get the work to death ending then all of them are dead men anyway because your city is full of just amputees. The banishment ending only felt unfair to me in the Winterhome scenario because I had the discontent low and had a decent amount of hope but still died.

The game over due to all workers dying or let alone everyone must be pretty difficult and less likely than just the generator exploding first.

I just keep getting banished or executed :/

Did my first playtrough of the Main Scenario yesterday. Was a though one and in the End more than 320 survived. The End quote:"And yet....was it worth it?" Looking at the Game Over Screen, yeah it fucking was worth it.

@@mrboiardo1176 Last Autumn Only have 1 Unique game over as far as I know. (You have been fired) I tried killing everyone and it still show "Last Soul has Perished" Cutscene with exact same game over screen (Frost cover the city) as this video.

I almost got the ghost town ending during the storm i got executed with 19 people left

It was wild when my first gameover was my people fucken steamed me to death Like goddamn ok

I feel rage when i lost when we don't have enough rations and coal. If you want to live, you should ask for a 24 hours shift, not demanding extra food or being upset.

That one with the kids is fucking metal... Reminds me of "How many fifth graders can you fight?" That's the start of lord of the flies right there I wonder how they'll figure out the machines in the city, good luck ya bastards you're on your own

Plot twist. They figure it all out. And even improve it. They then survive the storm, fix a faulty generator, and then seek out other cities so that they can enslave the adults from those cities to ensure the survival of humankind. ...I would call this the "Kids Next Door" ending.

I think the idea of it is that the people put their absolute faith in the purpose you give them, whether that be faith or the order of the city. They can't lose hope in those systems, but they can definitely depose you if they think you're a false prophet or a selfish tyrant.
