I don't know why, but that scene always felt like it drained the last of my hope whenever I see it. Even more so than with the beacon.

It’s kinda sad thinking that it’s doing it’s best but just cannot go on anymore. It’s just a machine but damn is it still sad to lose them when they help you so much already

Wait a sec, story of winterhone goes before New London build... when we take our chance in Winterhome few days before the end of story, we can command scout go find city, and when we build New London, in the middle of scenario, scout from Winterhome approach city..

But the cinematic kinda depicts the POV of the survivor that alerts NEW LONDO of what happened in winterhome, and the NEW LONDO cinematic depicts people ARRIVING at the objective location to start BUILDING the city, so it fits just right...

It’s implied that Winterhome’s generator goes critical as you are going to it, and if you don’t find it the generator goes critical and the scout arrives at New London, in fact there is a location in the frostlands in the fall of Winterhome with engineers there and it says something like “they are about to discover something” and if you leave them there they actually find New London near the end of Winterhome but in the normal game it’s impossible to get there in time, thus the lone scout reaching New London to tell the story of Winterhome
