It's a lot of fun playing with LEGO figures and terrain and I highly recommend it! Unfortunately they're much larger than most miniatures and might not work well unless everyone in the group is on board with the aesthetic.

The Witch is a pretty solid school - lots of powerful in-school spells and good aligned options as well.

Thanks Jeff! Lots of creativity went into that name. 😂

A side point about your choice of mind control at the end. The high casting number of less of an issue, and you'd probably want to empower it anyway as it's a will based attack that the target rolls against. (as opposed to most other spells which don't benefit from empowering beyond is needed to cast). I'd also add at game start you may as well always take a bow or crossbow for your wizard. This is useful if they don't have a long range ranged attack spell or get very low on health and don't want to cast for fear a low roll will kill them. There is no cost to do so, and the only drawback is -1 fight in the unlikely event the wizard is carrying treasure themselves.

Yeah, I like empowering Mind Control - it’s casting number even as a Neutral spell never really bothered me because I ALWAYS empower it. That’s a good point about the bow - I always forget equipment is free for Spellcasters in 2E. I usually never bothered carrying bows in 1E because it was GC I could spend on Soldiers. No need to worry about that anymore.
