Frontier Go Wild Pass - All You Can Fly - What it's Really Like

Last Fall we bought the Frontier Airlines' Go Wild Pass, was it worth the money? This pass allows you to fly unlimited times with Frontier Airlines for a year with 30 blackout dates. Is it truly worth the investment? We compare the cost of the pass to the cost of individual flights, taking into account factors such as convenience and flexibility.
We also discuss the downsides of the Go Wild Pass, including NO priority boarding, no carry on bags or checked bags without additional fees, and no assigned seats. We'll weigh the pros and cons of this pass and give our honest opinion on whether it's worth it for the average traveler.
Watch now and decide for yourself whether this Frontier Airlines pass is a good value for you.

Back in November of 2022 Frontier Airlines had an offer for their Go Wild Pass, unlimited air travel except for some black out dates domestically for $599. Shortly after we made the purchase they raised the price and included International flights. The requirements were you could only book 1 day in advance for domestic and 10 days for international and the pass would not be valid until May 2022. In April 2022 they offered Go Wild Pass holders to start using their passes earlier but since we were already on a trip we did not start using our passes until May 2022 and here is our experience.
In May of 2023, Frontier allowed Go Wild Pass holders to book travel using the pass until September 2023. We got right online and booked flights for a cruise we had planned in August from Seattle and also for flights back from NYC as we had a trip planned to London and needed a flight back to the West Coast from New York.
Our next flights booked will be the true experience of booking 1 day in advance or 10 days in advance for international with the Go Wild Pass.

No I’m pissed. I want my money back. They have most of the dates blacked out. You jabe to book one day prior to domestic flight, and 10 days prior to international Flights. You can get stranded somewhere. Not only that, the flights aren’t non stop. I’m mad af.

With you on this!! And you still have to pay almost full price. I compared the $15 go wild price to a regular spirit flight. Spirit only costs $19.89 so it’s definitely not worth it. Also, nothing is ever available and there is absolutely no way to get a human on the phone for customer support without having to pay them. Getting a refund!!

Im looking at getting this pass now. I fly Cincinnati to orlando frequently. My past 3 flights they made everyone line and check every single bag in the sizer before we boarded. They mean business about it now. I am a backpacker anyway who only needs a small bag but i was shocked how strict theyve gotten on the bags.

Very frustrating they don't hold seats for paid Go-Pass members, its a total gamble, not to mention only option is booking a day prior to travel. Any tips on how to get around this?

I am thinking about purchasing this for regularly monthly flights to and from St. Louis and Ontario (where you fly out of). In your opinion do you think that would work? AND what exactly is the 24hr rule...is it 24hrs before the day of the flight or the flight itself?

  • @OurMidlifeVan

We have noticed a few less flights lately out of Ontario for the flights we wanted recently. But Frontier seems to change their routes quite often. The nice part for us we can get to Ontario, Orange County or San Diego airports all with about the same drive time. Not sure what route Frontier takes to and from St.Louis. Our last flight out to Houston we left Orange County as the flight connected through Denver and Ontario’s Denver connection wouldn’t work to get us to Houston.

One time on a Saturday we had a couple hour delay leaving Vegas. A couple times late night we had a 15 minute or so delay as they waited for passengers on a connecting flight to arrive. Nothing ever effecting our travel planes. The Saturday delay was just our last leg getting home so we didn’t miss any connections with that leg.

  • @OurMidlifeVan

    @OurMidlifeVan

    9 ай бұрын

Thanks for watching, You would have to purchased 5 passes one for each family member with their own account which creates their own Frontier Member Number if they don't have one. Then with each family member set up each persons profile where you can add travel companions and enter their Member Number. You can also add seat preferences and home airport. This also makes reserving flights for multiple family members at once easy so that you are all on the same reservation number. We easily make reservations for flights for the two of us in just one persons account and then the Go Wild Pass is linked to the reservation and our seats are assigned next to each other. Hope that helps.

I like your review but do this after a longer period of time. My husband and I have done the Frontier pass to visit our Grandchildren. It's too long of a drive for every visit. We have had some long layovers, like 14hours, you may think it's not a big deal but it certainly can be. We have had many delayed flights where they keep you hanging on for hours just to cancel the flight altother after waiting for up to 3 or 4 hours. This airlines is really unpredictable as far as your scheduling your flights. Along with the fact that they really don't have any concern for your time. Since they don't have anyone to help you with most issues that come up. I have had my bag checked at every flight but one. I have purchased a Take-off bag and would purchase it again. The wheels come off so it will fit into the luuage bag bin for measurement. So, that really isn't an issue anymore. We have left clothes at my son and daughter-in-laws home, so we can travel light. I hope this helps someone with these comments. We so it not some much for the convince because it's really not, except once in awhile but the costs helps us out on our retired budget.

We have bought the pass again for another year so we will see how it continues to go.

For first few trips we were able to book a return fight in advance as Frontier was having a promotion to do so. The past month or so they have allowed some return trips to be booked. It looks like you can still book a few return flights in advance but it is hit and miss depending the flight. We always like to book one way flights anyways as the price is the same with the pass and that way if we need to change or book the return later we have part of our trip booked.

So far we have been able to book 9 flights in advanced as they keep having promotions for early booking. We just booked our first international flight which is available 10 days in advance.:) On our first 6 flights we had seats in rows 6-9 which was pretty good. We did end up purchasing their Elite Status for $80 as we had a few flights coming up where we knew we would need to take an additional carry-on. So we saved a few dollars by purchasing the stats instead of paying for luggage.

thanks for the information. thinking about buying the 299 fall winter pass starting 9/2. i also will be flying out of sna. a few questions please: did you find a cheap long term parking at sna? that can get very expensive. also, i would like to fly to the east coast also. did you have to pay for each segment meaning sna to las vegas to denver to philadelphia and then to savannah or was that all $25? it would expensive if you have to pay for each segment? lastly, i understand you have to book one day before. does that mean when you booked your outbound, you could not book your return since that would be a few days away? that means, i would have to fly to the east coast one way say to philly or boston, then wait till the day before i return to see if i can get a return flight? that is some big risk, but hopefully, you can tell me a way to minimize this risk. thank you!!!!!

We usually try and have a friend or family member drop us off. We have parked at the Marriott once near SNA and it was reasonable. When we flew to Philadelphia with a layover in Vegas it was one confirmation number but cost $30 since it had a layover airport taxes included. When we flew non stop Atlanta it was $15 since there was no layover airport involved. There was no way to get to Charleston except from Philadelphia so that was a separate confirmation number and was $15 from Philadelphia to Charleston. So from SNA to Charleston was $45 and we had an overnight layover in Philadelphia. But took advantage and explored the area. Usually all domestic flight are $15 per segment Since booking is 1 day is advance domestically you can’t book your return when you book our outbound flight. But when we traveled to Charleston and Savannah Frontier was having an early booking promotion so we were able to book our return. Some people book a Southwest flight as their return flight because you can cancel at the last minute and the funds are made available to you in your name for a future flight and that credit never expires. Hope that helps answer some of your questions. Safe Travels.

For a flight from Orange County John Wayne Airport in California to Philadelphia we had a layover in Vegas which cost $25 each same for the return from Philadelphia with an overnight layover in Denver, $25 each. We took a side trip down to Charleston from Philadelphia and it was $15 each. Then on the way back to Philadelphia from Savannah and that was $15 each as well. Another example is a flight from ISP in New York to Ontario California was also $25 so coast to coast for $25. Looking into Costa Rica, an international flight, will be $32 each way per person.
