Front end Alignment 2005 Ford F-250

This 2005 Ford F-250 pick up was brought to me for an alignment because exsessive wear on the inside of the front tires, on this high mile vehicle over 250,000 miles the springs sagged down causing negative camber. I used an aftermarket Camber Caster Cam from Specialty Products part number 23188 is a 2 deg. cam to correct the problem.
On this video I show the procedure to remove and replace such parts.
Thanks for watching.

    Great video! I’ve been looking all over the internet trying to find out how to Recenter my steering wheel on my 2007 F250 2wd with the I-beam suspension. Did you have to adjust both toe sleeves to Recenter the steering wheel or just the first sleeve on the passenger side?

  • @CarlosMDominguez

    @@SetApartCatholic I really don’t remember if both sides turn the same way or not. Since toe reading could be negative or positive so it really doesn’t matter the direction of turning. is there a particular reason you need to know?

  • @SetApartCatholic

    @SetApartCatholic

    @@CarlosMDominguez Yes, I was trying to Recenter my steering wheel as well. It’s sitting at about the 2 o’clock position and I wanted to rotate it as close as possible back to 12 o’clock. I’ve seen several videos of owners recentering their own steering wheels by rotating that same sleeve, but those videos show only 4wd models and it’s just that one sleeve on the drag link. Since I have a 2wd with the I beam suspension, it appears that there’s two toe sleeves. So I was curious if recentering my steering wheel was as simple as rotating both of those sleeves.

    @@SetApartCatholic got it. if you don’t have an alignment machine there is a way to do it. i’m going to try to make a video about this procedure soon. you’ll have to jack up the tires spray, paint them on the base of it all around it and scribe it with a screwdriver so you have a line to refer to do both tires that way, then set the tires on top of some slippery surface so they rotate freely with the weight of the vehicle on next you hold his steering wheel straight at 12 o’clock with something then you can start doing the adjustment by sighting the tires with the rear wheels to get them close. to fine-tune the attachment. Then you can take up tape measure and measure from one scrape line to the other one on the front of the tires then with some help from a friend go the back of the tire and take the same measurement and see if your toe is within specifications let’s say a 16th of an inch in then you’ll be done that way it won’t have the risk of wearing the tires off because tow in being out.

    Usually, when it does that on mine, I take off the ram chip, and spray some cleaner like alcohol on the pins. I make sure that the machine is off when I do this. The ram chip, is the one that has a battery mounted on top. Check my calibration video, I think I indicate those components there.

    They are ussually not hard to remove providing that you use the air hammer, however tou have to hit around the cam on the spindle not the cam. The vibration will pop it out. Well that depends also what part of the country you live. :)

  • @CarlosMDominguez

    That is correct, just install it, if the alignment shop is close by, does not matter too much, if you replace the tie rod ends, try to adjust so the tires are not too "toed" in or out so you do not stress the rubber too much.
