I have owned many guitars over my 57 years of playing guitar. My Taylor is by far, the finest guitar I have ever had the pleasure playing and owning. I absolutely love my Taylor guitar. Thank you .

Last month, I placed an order with my local dealer for a 2020 812e with the radius armrest. Although my guitar-playing will NEVER measure up to the capabilities of this guitar, I hope to always find enjoyment in admiring the exquisite workmanship of the build. This video helps me believe it was money well spent.

Beginners or mediocre players also deserve a good guitar. It is even recommended. You hear often that a good player can play well on any guitar, but that is not entirely correct. A good instrument is a stimulus for improvement. I remember when I sat in a separate cabin in a music store to test a Taylor. The sound aroused so many emotions in me, I never felt that before. I still have it every day. You start playing and the nice sound response you get encourages you to get better. You must have a tight bond with your instrument, you must love it.

I just started playing at age 58 on a Taylor academy 12e. I love it!! This is my hobby now and I’ll never be very good at playing a guitar. I love to hear the sounds I am creating. Get what makes you happy and what you can afford is what I say!!! I have no plans on upgrading at this time but I also don’t have a limit on what I can get!!!!! Enjoy your new guitar!!!!!

@@mer1red Thanks for the encouraging words! It sounds like wise advice. The dealer told me that it won't be until January 2021 before I receive the guitar. The wait is agonizing. But I've been watching a lot of KZread videos on Taylor guitars to help me cope with the anticipation. Although I haven't played a single note on the 812e yet, I do think perhaps that the emotional relationship that you mentioned is starting to build. My current guitar is a dreadnaught and I struggle a bit with the size. I'm hoping the shorter scale and smaller body of the Grand Concert will help my playing. I play guitar everyday and look forward to continuing my progress with the 812e. Thanks again.

@@brucemerryman7365 Wow, your experiences and perspectives are much like mine! I'm a senior citizen (old man...haha)`and I don't know how much longer my hands and fingers can maintain their flexibility. Life is too short so why not enjoy the best guitar that you can afford, right? I'm glad to hear that you like the Academy 12e. I went back and forth soooo many times on the cutaway vs non-cutaway issue, but since I rarely play past the 14 fret, I finally decided on the non-cutaway. I hope some day down the road, a new guitar will find its way into your home...I have a feeling it will be a special guitar!!! Thanks for the feedback!

I am a worship leader and have four Taylor guitars in my collection. My latest investment is the K14 Limited which has the Radius Armrest. I absolutely love this feature. I visited the factory twice and each time walked away impressed with the true craftsmanship that goes into every Taylor Guitar. My K14 KOA is amazing, so is my 816CE and T5Z Custom Koa Top. After seeing this video, I am reminded of what amazing work and skill goes into building my beloved guitars.

Just one more reason I am so impressed with Taylor guitars, I have a 214ce-SB Deluxe, hope to purchase another perhaps the GT as my arthritis is worsening but I still love playing. The Taylor brand's attention to detail and craftsmanship is above the bar and when you play one you realize it instantly, thanks to all involved in research and development of these very fine instruments.

Is there an extra thick piece of wood under the top where the arm rest goes? We need more videos like this Taylor. Great to watch the craftsmanship on producing these guitars. Having recently bought my first Taylor (K14ce) I’d love to see a video of the build process.

Good video. Not having the Guitar cut into your arm really adds to comfort, and even to the health of the person playing if they have poor circulation. It is wonderful to see that Taylor has put these on the Academy line (which I have) It makes playing/practice so much more enjoyable!

To be truthful I got a 914ce LTD with Sinker top and EIR back/sides and was disappointed that it came with just the radius armrest and not the bevelled armrest. For the extra cost of a 914ce LTD I would have thought it would come with the better bevelled armrest. Also the fact that the radius is very slight, but the ebony binding takes up a very large are adjacent to the Sinker soundboard. It's a great guitar, but the over machined ebony armrest area is disappointing that it removes so much of the Sinker top for only a small radius for the armrest.
