Ralph Stanley was my dads favorite banjo player. Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, The Stanley Brothers, Jim and Jesse and the Osborne Brothers were and are the pinnacle of bluegrass music and set the standard for all bluegrass performers to follow.

In my opinion they were just as famous as Bill Monroe and Flat and Scruggs. Bill, F&S, and the Stanley brothers. They are the base of bluegrass music.
