I’m from Missouri. My mother was from the Tennessee hills I grew up on this music knew a lot of the Stanley brothers , Little Jimmy Dickens , the Carter family and so many others. I was a teenager in the 70’s and didn’t appreciate these old timers now in my 60’s and proud my mother introduced me to mountain music.

Used to go to bluegrass festivals all over Virginia and North Carolina. Bill Monroe would be up on stage playing and our group would be up in the camp ground playing music ourselves. We didn’t stop to go see him play on stage. Happened like that numerous times. We just took it for granted. Wished I’d gone down to watch him more now that he’s gone. Too late now. I have got my picture taken with him one time though. Still have that picture.

Nice tribute..you got all the dates right which for years no one else has been able to do. A lot of those pictures in this are my personal photo's. I was with Keith for nearly 9 years and also from the Crowe days. In all those years I never saw Keith take a drink of anything. No one in the band drank so there was never any alcohol on the bus. Lorrie said herself she'd never seen Keith drink anything but tea and diet Pepsi. He never died of alcohol poisoning and hopefully one day the truth will prevail.

Bill Monroe was known as the father of bluegrass and rightfully so but Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs are the ones that put it on the map!

As a child I remember the big family dinners followed by family members pulling out the instruments. Grandpa on fiddle, uncle and cousin on guitar or whatever else they felt like playing and grandma on the piano. Alison's music always takes me back to those days and I will always be thankful for that. Her voice is like an angel from the past that just consumes my spirit sometimes to tears, but always lifts me up in the end.

Many interesting facts are left behind, such as the everlasting conflicts with his bandmates. And why he mistrusted so many people who supported him. Based on his unhappy childhood - he never trusted anyone.
