There’s something about watching those little hands reach for something wonderful to eat that gets me every time! 🥹 I bet that kitchen smells so delicious every morning! Thank you for great breakfast recipes! I love watching cooks that cook by eyeing the ingredients! When I was first married I hopelessly tried to write down my Mama’s recipes. She didn’t measure and I thought how in the world does she do that? Now forty-two years later, I get it. Smart to teach your girls early on that skill! 💕🙌🏻

Anything I can make ahead is a helpful start to the day. Its very easy to get tired/frustrated making every meal from scratch, and getting other chores done. Sometimes people do not think of " cooking" as a valid choice of using time....until they are hungry! ( Lol) I still do it because its really the only way to " know" somewhat, what goes into our food! Health.

My daughter-in-law recently started working full-time and brought me a bag of food for the kids the other day. They are one and three and she brought pizza rolls. I did not feel good about that at all! I fed them to them that day but yesterday I made them homemade chicken nuggets and baked then lightly fried sweet potatoes to be like a french fry. Much better choices! Blessings on your daughter getting to stay home with her family! And what a blessing you are to encourage her!

@@livingwellanyway3279 I reread my comment and it did sound harsh. I am so sorry! I love my daughter-in-law severely and I meant no harm towards her. I know we have both been trying to figure out how to make a full-time job work for the two of us, her working and me with the babies. I was just surprised because she is a superior cook and Baker and dreams of opening her own restaurant. I have been trying to bless her each morning by preparing a breakfast for her before she goes to work as she drops the babies off. Thank you for keeping me in check! I will make 2-3x what the recipe calls for and then freeze them for the next weeks or days to come. I still have some in the freezer from last month 😅 it will be our Saturday breakfast. I even do them for snacks sometimes. You gotta find what works for your family. I loved these ideas!

Really would like to try einkorn sometime but it is very hard to find here. Usually I make baked oatmeal. Or oats pancakes. And indeed different kinds of overnight oats. For summer a lemon blueberry is great, or a pumpkin spice in autumn, or apple cinnamon and raisin. Endless options :) Making granola is still on my list to make sometimes, perhaps this winter I'll make time on a Sunday with the breakfast make ahead meal prep. My daughter would like to eat breakfast burritos every day, but I like to give her a lot of diffetent things in the morning so that's a once in a while thing.

I'm a big time egg eater and am always looking for ways to use up a lot of eggs, they're so easy to make and can be made rich/more traditional or healthier without crust and doing half whole eggs, half egg whites. Throw in loads of wilted spinach and roasted zucchini with onion.. SO so good.

I don't *think* she's sauteeing the oats? I think the stovetop step is to get the oil & honey to melt down to liquid so that it can evenly coat the oats, and then they're just going into the pot to mix instead of dirtying a mixing bowl.

I think breakfast is more important in Northern European countries (and Germany and the U.K.), many people in those countries tend to eat porridge, muesli - I even think muesli was created in either Germany Austria or Switzerland - and granola with yogurt, for breakfast

You should wash your farm fresh eggs, right before you use them! The poop on the outside will contaminate the eggs with bacteria, when you crack them open. I also pour pancake batter into a large cookie sheet (the kind with edges) on top of parchment paper, and bake. Standing at the stove flipping pancakes takes forever! Tripling any normal recipe usually works for that. I'm not sure what you mean by "leave it out overnight"...with the yogurt and milk added to the oats, fruit and nuts? I know about soaking oats overnight, but typically in water.
