Have you ever thought about putting a damp towel under your cutting board? It would keep it from moving around so much.

Using a dough cutter to mash potatoes- genius! I’ve never thought of that. Also, try putting a damp kitchen towel under your cutting board, it will keep the wooden bird from sliding when you chip veggies, safer for your fingers!

Great video Lisa. During the winter when I had a busy day. I used to brown some meat….normally brown so e pork sausage or ribs etc and then pour in a jar of my sauerkraut and chop up a bunch of apples and a little water or apple,e juice then let it simmer. At the end I would sometimes throw dumplings on top. It was so good. Mashed spuds were great with them too. I know u do lose the probiotic goodness from the kraut. But it still taste good. Thanks for your channel. ❄️💕❄️

I went the same thought process over cooking with my good sauerkraut and I realized too that you are using it for what it's for! To have preserved your cabbage so you can have fresh veg in winter but also even if you kill off the probiotics you have made all the nutrients way more bio available!

Shrimp and rice. Try using daddy jack seasoning for shrimp and if u like dill to the shrimp you can add that as well. It is a standard seasoning that restsurants use as the Late Daddy Jack was a chef and has this recipes online 5 Tblspn Paprika 4 Tblspn Salt 3 Tblspn Pepper 3 Tblspn Garlic Put in jar and mix well keep in pantry it is good on all types of meat chicken or fish Use lightly and add whatever seasoning you like to this or you can just use daddy jack seasoning alone or flour and fry or bake Thanks!

Love your ideas! I always know when I’m in a cooking rut that you will give me some ideas! Just a suggestion: you could try making mashed potatoes with skin on (if organic). It makes the process even faster/easier and adds extra nutrition since peel has vitamins in it. My kids don’t seem to mind a bit! Gold potatoes hide the peel the best if you have picky ones that would be bothered by it.

I have a question if you or any subscribers may be so kind as to help with my answer? Off topic of this video but in regards to sourdough recipes... If I want to double a recipe (lets say for dinner rolls or sandwich bread) can I easily just double the recipe OR should I make the second one separately? Wasn't sure if doubling recipe will ruin the outcome? Or does it depend on the dish? Or? Anyone have any insight? Thanks in advance! (I'm new to sourdough and new at baking too!)

It's nice to be with family but there's so many of us and it's so loud that I sometimes can't hear my parents over all the kids and grandkids. So I like to spend quiet time with them so we can talk.i also like to be with them as much as possible at Christmas time because I know it's hard on them because 1 of my brothers and my sister have passed and another brother lives in Vietnam. So it's now just me and my brother of their kids that they see at Christmas . We also go out to eat on the 26th because that would be my sister's birthday.

Always good these kind of meals. I just made a potato vegetable soup with potato, sweet potato, broccoli and leeks. Serve with some croutins made from old bread and I had some chorizo sausage and I have an easy meal :) with perhaps some leftover soup for lunch the next day. I have a parcel you grill in the oven with sauerkraut, roaster bell pepper and pineapple, that is so good as well. Apple and sauerkraut sound good too, the sweet and sour note. I know some people who use banana with theirs but I don't like that. Sauerkraut is a traditional staple here in the Netherlands. Usually boiled, with boiled potatoes and mashed together with smoked sausage and pork belly, but my mom makes an oven dish which substitutes the smoked sausage with browned ground up sausage and onion. That is good as well.

The meal with the sauerkraut and apple is really Dutch. In winter I always make a casserole with a layer wine-sauerkraut, a layer pineapple or apple, a layer smoked sausage and then a layer of mashed potato with a little bit of curry spice trough it. Then top it off with a bit of grated cheese. We also have casseroles with kale. We cook the kale, mash it trough the mashes potatoes, mash little pieces of bacon through it and slices of smoked sausage. Then top it off with some cheese and put it under the broiler. Greetings from the Netherlands!

Where did you get your plates? I specifically am thinking of the beautiful cream, scroll work plate you served the kraut, sausage & potatoes on. I'm looking forward to trying the shrimp scampi especially! Thank you for sharing!

I love potatoes! All kinds! Watching while I wait for my rice to cook. Simple dinners are the best. Also, are those Caraway pots and pans? Do you have a discount code? I'd like to get a few! love the grey color too!

Hi Lisa. Thank you for sharing this video! I have noticed the utensil crock next to the mixer on the counter. I am curious where you got it? I used to have a similar crock that my gramma (recently passed) gave me when i was in my 20’s. Long story short, it was broken and I haven’t been able to locate another one. I miss my grandmother, and your crock made me think of her.

On the sausage, kraut and apples, a dollop of sour cream on top will take it to the next level! 😊

I’m curious if you peel your potatoes every time? I stopped when I found out the health benefits of the skins. I refrain if my potatoes are store bought in case of chemical sprays. 🤷‍♀️ Your food looks super yummy!!

wouldyou consider doing a segment on your most used and workhorse tools in the kitchen that your would recomend? Also, a segment on Hygiene products that are great for a big family and are affordable. Do you have any suggestions for a afforadable hand and body lotion for hardworking hands like yours? Thank you
