From Military Surplus to Techwear

In this video I go step by step on an easy taper method that I use to taper some combat cargo pants that are military issued. This is an easy trick to get yourself a nice tapered slim silhouette out of a cheap pair of technical military garments. This is one of the cheapest and easiest ways to get yourself a pair of techwear cargo pants.

Pro tip: When marking stitch lines, make your mark so that the *edge* of the mark lines up with your measurement. That way you don't have to eyeball where the center of your mark is and you can precisely follow the measurement. When stitching, find a reference point on the presser foot of you machine and use it to guide the needle along the edge of your mark. That way you'll get both legs of the pant exactly even.

Yo, your videos are dope and high quality, but use more lighting. Couldn't see shit. Same with the waterproofing vid, too dark.

@Kaisei Virden why ? There’s a wax you can put on fabric to add water resistance. Alot of hiking pants get coated with it .

I like really thin and straight up to the knee and only half way through the knee getting really wide and baggy, and it's really hard to get something like this, they always do it much bellow the knee which makes you look like Aladdin.

do you have a link to a good tutorial on how to implement a zipper at the bottom of the pants, mch like the ACRNM P-10 does have? I dd a zipper in my second pants alteration, but it did not work out as well as i wanted it to, so a tutorial would be helpful. If i do not find any tutorials on this, i might as well make one myself, though.

Sew Much Black I’ve been working on a video that would include some alternative tapering methods than the one shown in the video and there is a zipper method, not quite the same as the p-10 pants though more like those stone island wide leg pants from last shadow project season so you should make one where it’s like the p-10s because that is an awesome feature to have on pants!
