During my bedbound phase the hardest part was hearing my 6 year old crying to see me while I was too weak to do anything. I spent many days crying because of it. It tore me apart. Slowly as I got better I focused on quality time with her. Even if it was just on the couch, playing a board game or reading together. Just being together was all that mattered. These days I can do so much more and still focus on that quality time together. Being present with her. I don't feel like she misses much from me now, even though I'm not fully recovered yet. I hope to go bike riding with her within the month. To me that would be a miracle.....soon.

I love her energy. She is so right about the television. Every time I started watching television I would become super nauseous and drained. This happened for over a year for me after LC. My theory for this is because whatever program you're watching you're nervous system responds as if you were the one in that situation. It's low key adrenaline dumping. The more action packed or suspenseful or thrilling the program, the more tense you become and the more the nervous system is taxed. Plus all the constant camera angle shifts on top of it. It's insane how much work is involved in just watching television.

So very hard when you’re a mum. My 27 year old has never known me as well, but he has grown into a beautiful, empathetic, kind young man who still is lousy at cleaning his room! If I had my time again I would live as much as possible based on the oxygen mask on a plane analogy . You need to have the oxygen first so you can be there to help your family. Be kind and compassionate to yourself and DO DO DO ask for help however big or small that is Really loved the interview, thank you 🥰

Had covid twice, am doing a PhD in Astrophysics. My memory is still not as good as it used to be but I am 80% there. It Took me 3 years to be able to start studying without falling asleep every half an hour. I used to get tired really easily. I am much better but even after 3.5 years now i still have much less energy than I used to. I just powered through, had no time to sit down and think the negative thoughts or ponder about my conditions. I was giving interviews for a PhD position. After that worked out i was doing what i love, surrounded by people I enjoy spending time with. That really helped i think. But now i want to make full recovery because my allergies have gotten much worse since COVID.

Yes! Recovery is possible as a mother. Maybe it takes a little longer, but on the other side it is the biggest motivation to be healthy for your child. I think my child didn't had to miss out on too much. But to put her first I had to put all my other relationships on hold. I lost a lot of friends and haven't seen my family very often. I don't have mum guilt, but aunt guilt and sister guilt daugther guilt and granddaughter guilt. Being a good mother and a good partner was my priority.

Wonder if it’s the likely prevalence of undetected Mold/fungal issues? With the dampness and old homes, mold in their environment is likely an issue. People may have fungal issues colonized in their sinuses, suppressing their immune systems - and then I’ve read that Covid infections deplete beneficial Bifidobacterium in the gut. (Look up Sabine Hassan, MD content). Tilts the body toward a more fungally dominated gut, and CF / ME can be the end result, as mitochondrial function is impaired with Mold toxicity. Also look up CFS/ME and Cell Danger Response, in any podcast by Dr Neil Nathan.

I’ve been sick for years with three children I have responsibility for and while I am married, it has drowned us. Try paying medical bills while they need birthdays, Christmas, their own medical bills, braces, sports costs, clothes, food and on and on… Queer has nothing to do with it.
