Congrats!! Great to see the youth taking interest in hunting I’ve taken a lot of kids on their first hunt and I had a better time than when I went out and shot a big buck myself!

Just a reference for the out of staters, In Ohio a crossbow is legal for anyone to use during archery season, no just handicap individuals.

And for youth you can take them hunting their first year and not have to purchase a tag. They also don’t have to do the hunter education course. Ifs a way to get youth outdoors to see if they will like hunting. After the first year they will have to go take the course. I’m taking my son out for his first time this year.

Dear Bearded Butcher (I am sorry, I just found your channel and dont know your name yet) I have always wanted to hunt, but no one in my life hunts, and have never found the time or opportunity to escape this rate race, get away from my job supporting my family, and learn. I did decide that I want to build an off grid homestead, with alternative building methods, and started watching videos about Cob building construction, hempcrete, and 3d printed concrete structures. Which lead me to decide I will want to grow my own food, farm my own eggs, and raise cattle and chickens for meat. This lead me to you today. In the span of 6 hours I have watched a number of videos on how to butcher and process poultry, pigs, cattle, and now deer. I almost missed this video. I am so happy I didnt. This was beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes watching your nieces excitement, anticipation, patience, and the way she shook breathing after downing her first deer. I know about buck fever, but to watch it in a young one, learning for the first time, embarking of a the first step of a life long skill and journey into hunting and self sustenance was truly one of those moments you never expect in life until it happens. It has given me a new determination to find that time for myself, but also my now 10 year old son. I want to thank you, but I cant find the words. I hope you understand. I cant wait to share this moment with my son. God bless you and yours. You have an amazing property there. Brad, A father, husband, and soon to be hunter/farmer.
