    Same reason why they hired Bruce Campbell (at the time his best known role was ash from evil dead) they only got him for the opening of one movie where they killed him off instantly because they couldn’t afford him. I've always found vampire movies which explore vampire mythology outside of the stereotypical European setting to be fascinating. The whole controversial reptilian agenda fits in quite well with the vampires of From Dusk Till Dawn, what with so many ancient American and African cultures having their own snake and reptilian beliefs regarding shapeshifters and energy suckers. I also like 'Vampire In Brooklyn' because it explores voodoo traditions of the Caribbean and West Indies, and how that ties into Vampire lore. Queen of The Damned is another interesting example, with the tie in with Ancient Egyptian nobility. I've long since believed that such movies and other media are symbolic of the real shapeshifting evil that exists in our world.

    I honestly think the chronology of the series is actually 3, 2, 1. That would explain why the Titty Twister is still functioning in the 2nd movie, and Trejo playing a "different character" is really just him changing identities because he's an immortal vampire. The ending of the first film heavily implies that the vampires all got wiped out due to that sunlight disco ball, so to me it wouldn't make sense that they're just suddenly back up and running by #2. I also think it'd be cool if a film series ran BACKWARDS into time rather than forwards. It kinda sucks they confirmed it as a sequel to the first by saying that one guy was the son of the man killed in the first film.

    Theory: The reason why it took longer for the preacher to turn was because of the cross shotgun he was using. The vampires are afraid and can die from the crosses, so my theory is that the virus or whatever that is injected to turn someone was kept at bay by the cross he was using however once his cross shotgun was gone he quickly turned. If compared to others' bitten in the movie, they took a shorter time to turn when alive (the dead seems to take a little longer to turn probably because it's got to revive). At first, I thought it was because he was a former preacher. However, that wouldn't make sense as that would affect his soul more than his body, and if that was the case, he probably would have kept some of his humanity even after changing however when he changed he lost all sense of his former self and was quick to attack his son.

    If anyone plays or is interested in Vampire the Masquerade, this whole trilogy could easily be adapted into a chronicle. Like these vampires would clearly be either Gangrel (who take on animalistic features when they frenzy) or Setites (who have a strong association with snakes) especially since both clans have snake-affiliated bloodlines that have been in the americas for centuries (at the very least), and can transform into animals. And theres rules for true faith for characters like the ex-preacher... who'd be able to kill vampires with a shotgun because he'd be whats called Imbued.

  • @bloodydove5718

    @bloodydove5718

    6 ай бұрын

    @@jbones6099 You're right about True Faith and the Imbued; I wasnt saying anything different. I was saying that mechanically, ex-preacher would be a character who's both imbued and has true faith, like Father Esteban Cortez, from the Hunter the Reckoning game on the original x-box. If someone wanted to turn From Dusk Till Dawn into a VtM Chronicle, they could definitely use an Imbued that has True Faith, since H5 is designed around Hunters that are Imbued. In H5, Endowments can be used to represent True Faith, and V5 has basic rules for STPC's with True Faith. And Messengers are Implied to be Angels. If Lucifer and The Fallen are telling the truth, The Messengers are the only two angels still here since God and the others left. But thats if Lucifer and The Fallen are telling the truth. Messengers could just be altruistic eldritch entities, that are assumed to be angels, in the same fashion to how many ancient kine assume the gangrel Odin is the mythological Odin (Even though he's definitely not)

    Well one is a movie and the other is a TV series. I will never understand how people don't understand the difference in story telling that is needed across different media. You can't tell the same exact story in vastly different time frames, a couple hours versus several. Think of it this way too, there was no real importance to her character at all in the first film, she's just the headlining erotic dancer. Satanico was literally just a monster at that point and not a real character. What purpose would it serve to keep her alive for the rest of the movie? What would keeping this one random sexy vampire alive really add to it? She only became queen of the vampire den retroactively thanks to the prequel film. Obviously a TV show based on pre-established lore from the previous films would keep her around longer but to expect the same from the very first movie in a film franchise is funny. Unlike books or TV series a movie rarely thinks about the greater over arching story that might be told with sequels/prequels, which are usually written well after the fact.

    I can't believe you missed the 'Fearless Vampire Killers' reference! While 'budget' might be the easiest (& probably most likely) explanation for why the transformations were lacking the snake element- I think perhaps it's because the goddess' direct bloodline's gone, & the species has 'weakened' (relatively speaking)- though they were pretty inconsistent with their power levels, so idk...
