Kristene Bateman - You're MUCH too young to be worrying about gravity. There isn't much you can do about it, anyway - unless you leave the planet or have cosmetic surgery. But your carded comment reminded me of the one and only time I was ever carded. I was visiting friends in Maryland and I was last in the car, so I went in to get beer, carrying my 5 year old. They asked me for ID! I was shocked! I was THIRTY! and had NEVER been carded. I didn't drive then (lived in NYC,didn't need to) so I had to go back to the car empty handed. They STILL tease me about it. Funny thing? I'd been buying booze for YEARS in Brooklyn - since I was 13. NO PROBLEM. I quit drinking at 15, though, and didn't go into a liquor store again till I moved to Florida and needed marsala wine to cook with. Thanks for reminding me of that!

I'm 55. I always looked younger than my real age *until* the past 5 years! Seemingly overnight I have gone blind and my face has fallen. I hate the jowls (knowing they'll keep getting worse) but in photos it's my neck I notice most. I know there's no cure (no surgery for me) but it feels like a safe place to admit to my vanity. Thanks for creating a channel for "us!" 🙏🏼

Monique, you hear so many stories of how artificial many famous people can be. Well I found you to be so genuine and refreshing. I have seen you in the 1313 movies and want you to know that I really enjoy your performances. I am a gay man in his 60s and was looking for ideas of how to do makeup for pride this year. What you did was stunning and not at all overdone. I get really turned off by some of the overly painted drag queens and wanted something more natural and beautiful. Wow, you delivered! Thanks so much for being so real and open and honest! Kudos!

Monique is beautiful! People do age differently. My photo is a selfie taken with my cell phone. No photoshop. I am 70 years old. No botox, no fillers, no plastic surgery. I have a "virgin" face. LOL I use good anti-aging serums and moisturizers and weekly DIY facial masks at home. The trick is probably good genes but I also exercise regularly, eat lots of fruits and vegetables, very little meat, lots of fish and almost never eat processed food. IIt's a lifestyle.

I think you are brave for allowing us to see you without all those layers of make-up and the wig. You are beautiful au-natural, and it takes a lot of courage to be that vulnerable. I applaude you for showing the rest of us women how much time, energy and expense it takes to look that way! I love that you have embraced your silver hair, I am sure it was very hard to make that transition. I hope I have the courage to do the same once my hair requires coloring. I wish you would have shown us how you would have worn your hair if more time was available. I am not a fan of the wig, because most of us do not have that amount or volume of hair in our late 40's and 50's. I will look for a hair tutorial that you may have already posted. Thanks for the great lighting, volume and goofiness!

You are lovely without any makeup at all but when you simply had the moisturizer and foundation that was a "wow" moment for me. I've never used makeup. I'm a granola gardener, no time for makeup person and I just turned 50. I have no worries about that since I enjoy good health but I would like to look nice as I can when out in public and with my partner. How nice it was to encounter your video. I saw your big glam video and that looks absolutely daunting so I think I'm just going to try the moisturizer and foundation part to start. Thanks so much.

Yes and jojoba oil actually makes oily skin less oily! This is because the molecules are the same size as sebum molecules, and thus it tricks the skin into producing less sebum, as it doesn't need so much. I have been using it on my very oily nose at night for about 10 days and this morning I noticed it had nearly all been absorbed, so if you persevere , it works. Only use it at night though!

Im on here for politics mostly & how refreshing to find a beautiful actress or starving artist as you commented, with a natural & humorous charm that comes through on your videos. I'm a bit older than you, maybe a couple bits older & already liked some of your tips & ideas! I was a dancer - ballroom. Performed & taught lessons, even had a studio for a few years. History for me. Love being au natural & love getting gorgeous too! I've been thinking of the gray myself but Im not quite there yet. Looks fabulous on you-both short & long. I told a girlfriend of mine the other day that everyone will know when I get gray hair because I won't fight it, I'm just gonna go for it and dye it all gray. The first video of yours that I watched was about going gray. I feel a little more prepared for when that day comes.

Love that dress! You are in such good shape, you put girls half your age to shame! Great video! It's also nice to see someone do glam make-up without heavy dark foundation contouring. Sick to death of that trend and nobody benefits from it except drag queens.

Beautiful! No 'faux' anything about the confidence and grace you exude. Doesn't hurt that you have a body that most 18 year old girls would envy, and the panache to carry off the big glam look. Your talents as makeup artist and stylist are clearly just the tip of the iceberg! I'm addicted.

I absolutely enjoyed watching this video. You are GORGEOUS! Such an informative and entertaining tutorial. As an aspiring actor myself, I loved your insight into the business. You're awesome. Well done :) P.S. Ageism in Hollywood (the Entertainment business, and everywhere for that matter) can absolutely suck it.

What a pleasure! Thanks for taking me through your process. I've got a photo shoot coming up and a Beverly Hills meet-up with pals from the past and I am going to be following you, not only for your tips but, perhaps, more importantly, for your sense of self! Approachable, a tad self-effacing (makes things easier for me, out here!) and straight forward with so many great tips and explanations. Thanks, Ms. Parent! I'll be back and I'll try to get my mitts on some "tight eye", too. Thanks!

What a happy surprise to stumble across this video. I've just hit 50 and finished my silver growout. I was a natural brunette but wore red for many years. Wow, what a difference the silver makes on makeup choices!! All those neutrals I wore for so long now look blah. This gives me a bit more confidence to bring back some of those "plum/rose" tones that worked in the 80s with dark ash hair and not be afraid of purple! Love the glam for burgers and 'tinis - if I had an accomplice, I'd pull out the long black velvet and head to in-n-out!

You could never look hideous. You're beautiful! It's your beautiful face that carries the makeup so well. Someone who is not as fortunate to have as lovely of features as you could apply their makeup exactly the same as you and do their hair just the same as you and they would not look as beautiful as you do. The makeup just accentuates what is already there. Beauty!

That was so much fun, entertaining and educational! Thank you so much. I've been prematurely grey for so long, am 54 now and have coloured my hair up until about 7 years ago and you're right, you have to get used to different make up colours and you also change with age. I liked this because I've never been good with make up and have always needed tips and ideas as for what to do. I have small eyes and that is my biggest issue. I have discolouration on my skin, very pale skin and white hair with small eyes. It's not easy! Lol. Thanks for doing this.
