Great video. Sad to see this mall get demolished soon. Have so many childhood memories here. I was here a couple weeks ago with a few friends and it’s so sad to see the condition it’s in now.

This brings back a few memories. My girlfriend (now wife) and I lived in North Tonawanda during 2002 - 2003, while I worked at GM's Tonawanda Engine Plant. We spent Christmas of 2002 there and I remember the Boulevard Mall being one of the places that I shopped for gifts for her. We often walked that mall and a few others in the area, just to get out of the house. It's sad to see it go.

They always can retain a section of the mall as a public park & plaza.

Removing the food court was the biggest mistake the owners made. If I owned that mall, there'd be no discussion of Dick's Sporting Goods taking over the food court because I would've never allowed it.

Demographics has killed a lot of malls. Out of control fatherless teens running wild - people feel unsafe to shop the mall, unwilling to allow their kids to go there.

@ruinroad if you're still in that area the summit park mall by the love canal has been abandoned for many years if it hasn't already been demolished.

shopping malls are dying across the USA because retailers are going out of business, shopping habits have changed, real estate markets change etc.. One of the worst casualties of this is Landover Mall outside of Washington DC. Landover opened in 1972 with many high end retail anchors in a White community.. However, within 10 years White people moved out and Black people moved into the area. Drugs such as Crack took over by 1984. Many of the high end retailers were having issues and the merchandise at their Landover location lacked the quality and service of their other locations and soon these stores closed. By the mid 1990s the mall was ghetto and by 2004, Sears was the only retailer at the mall. The mall was torn down with only Sears standing and even that didn't last long.

The Billionaires are billionaires because they are five chess moves ahead of us proles. The Billionaires own Amazon and people shop via the internet. See all those little UPS and Amazon vans?
