Any initiative that seek to address crime while negating to deal with the root cause of crime will eventually fail. This R10M investment is a step in the right direction but it is in no way the ultimate solution.

They have them for years in Chicago, theres still an average of 15-20 shootings a day its still terrible but its getting better, thanks to that there are only an average of 550 murders a year vs 1000, and 1500 shootings a year instead of 3000, still need more than just the shot spotter technology they have though

are you a moron? per capita a couple dozen cities are higher but in sheer numbers its no question chicago the highest by far. On top of that the most dangerous neighbourhoods in chaicago have way more shooting spree capita than baltimore phildalphia east saint louis detroit or any of the other worst cities.. go to the south part of the austin neighbourhood or west garfield park, east garfield park for that matter, or even north lawndale its by far the highest shootings and murders per capita than anywhere in america@@lndingalle9605

I firearm shoots out about 160dB per shot. A suppressor or will only subtract around 30dB depending on the gun and silencer. Which is still really loud, a rock concert is about 120 dB. Therefore a suppressor would not be useful for trying to trick the camera. Instead maybe set of fireworks in the area to divert the cameras
