I am currently working on perfecting my crossovers so this video is just what I need. Again big THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge and tips. It makes a great difference in my skating life since I have no instructor. ❤❤❤❤

Many thanks for making this video! I really like it for strengthening skating skills. I’ve been trying to improve the 2nd push of my backward crossovers with limited success, so I look forward to doing these exercises for better crossovers overall.

For the exercise starting at 2:34, I have the hardest time only using the under push without lifting the outside foot, even though I think I am now beginning to have a good under push with the regular crossovers. If possible, would you be able to comment about where the weight is and how you can get pushes purely using the under push, without lifting the outside leg? Do I need more lean, or turning into the circle more, or more bend perhaps, or the pushing leg needs to push at a precise angle to make it work right? I was told to try this exercise in a power stroking class, but it felt like I did not manage the positioning and weight shifting (and am unsure of where or how it should be done) to get a strong push without it feeling awkward, or having it push at all. It's strange that it feels like it works with normal crossovers, but then trying to analyze it to only under push doesn't work.

You are absolutely right, this exercise with just the under push without lifting your free leg from the ice is extremely difficult, and I admire you for even trying it. To be able to help you better, please send me a video of you doing this exercise to my email, which you can find on my website. I will use your example for a new detailed video with explanations. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to seeing your progress!
