Frog Jumping Ritual at Kinpusenji temple in Yoshino [Deep Japan] by the licensed tour guide 蛙飛び行事

The Last Samurai visits Kinpusenji temple in Yoshino town, Nara and introduces Kaerutobi gyoji, Frog jumping ritual. This is one of the most eccentric ritual in Japan. This ritual is held by Shugendo, one of the religion which consists of nature worship, Buddhism, Taoism and Yin and Yang.
In this ritual, the frog transformed from a man, returns to the man by the magical power of Shugendo.

    Thanks for the great video! In 2022 I rode my road bike from my parent in-laws house in hasedera through yoshino to kinpusenji (and back again)! It was such a tough ride up to kinpusenji but so beautiful and worthwhile!! My wife is from hase Dera nara and didn't know about this frog jumping ritual! We will take our kids next time! Thanks again for the great DEEP JAPAN videos!!
