Fritz, Matthew,& the Inn at the Glade - Secrets, Hidden Options, and How to Roleplay | Did you know?
Even if Henry manages to get them jobs the Two Stooges aren't ever far from trouble. "A friend in need .." is another quest that has a lot of hidden quest options and a deeper background than is apparent at first. Digging into it can lead Henry into a blackmail and framing for murder. Lots of food for thought.
There's also a hidden quest to find Adam's (Bianca's brother) treasure that was looted from Skalitz. You can side with Andrew, Adam, or even keep the loot for yourself.
Plus the activity to help the lady of the night at the "Inn in the Glade". She's looking for help resolving genuine grievances but it pulls you into being an accessory for murder.
"Kingdom Come:Deliverance" contains many hidden dialogue and secret options that you won't run into if you treat it as a straightforward game where you only follow quest directives. It pays to talk to everyone, pay attention fo passing conversations, and treat the world as a real entity rather than a collection of quests.Be sure to take your time and pay attention!

What's a "let's roleplay"? A roleplay is an attempt to play the game from the character's perspective. Games often have limitations in how they can portray the world and how they allow players to interact with them. Doing a roleplay means taking actions in line with what that character would know, taking the world and story seriously, and interact with the world in ways that are consistent with it even if the game systems can't enforce that.

I do feel like it would be better for the quest line as a whole if the game emphasized that Fritz and Matthew were longtime/childhood friends with Henry which would justify the next level patience Henry has for his friends.

You do get to see some of that during the prologue but that's generally a problem with everybody from Skalitz. For example Johanka only turns up to warn you the bailiff is coming, but you're supposed to know her when you meet her at Sassau monastery. Theresa's story in The Womans' Lot DLC does give you some time with the Skalitz villagers, but it might have been nice to have a bit more time in the village before it burns.
I love how the describtion of the "Gold cross" is "Give that cross back, you thieving bastard."
In my last quest with Matthew and Fritz, I stole the 3000 groschen from the talmberg quarry and stored it with my horse. It automatically made me tell them I kept the money and they both fought me (and they failed miserably) 😂 I don't know why people have a soft spot for them. They are the WORST friends and make me do everything and more. I had no sympathy keeping all that money lol
@SequentialGamer_KCD

Ah, I didn't know you auto-kept it if you put it on your horse! And yeah, they're divisive characters. People either remember that they're Henry's childhood friends or that they're scum, which leads to people either trying to save them or comdemning them to death. That divisiveness is good character development IMHO, it makes you think.

@@SequentialGamer_KCD I agree. They're there for a reason. I thought robbing them and leaving them once and for all (not killing them) was my way of showing that Henry outgrew them and their mischievous deeds. Playing and making choices as I would, I snitch and my reasons are: 1) They make you do EVERYTHING to prepare and make you even rob the money and they do absolutely nothing but wait for you to finish. 2) They tried to lie to you about it by saying you're robbing Cumans and Sigismunds men. It's only after you call Mathew out he tells you that you're stealing from innocent, hard working people. 3) They wanna steal from honest hard working people who have done absolutely nothing but work for that money. 4) You're robbing from Talmberg, the place of the lord that saved your life, took you in, protected you and continues to help you. In the DLC Divish even gives you an entire village that, once you get up and running, you keep all the proceeds for the next 5years at least. 5) You do so much for them, get them jobs, sort out the messes they get themselves in and they still want more from you and do nothing for you in return. Even if you get them to Pribyslavitz, you have to yet again step in and force them to actually work before they do anything. The only reason I have for not snitching is the extra 20g (10 for each) at Pribyslavitz. Which is negligible at best once you have it up and running anyway. They're lazy, incompetent and they cause only problems wherever they go. They expect Henry to bail them out of everything yet talk to him and treat him like some garbage errand boy. To top it off, you HAVE to finish the robbery even though if you have Pribyslavitz all ready, they shouldn't need that money because they have a home, job security and a decent paying job there waiting but no, they just want free money and their excuse is "BuT wE wErE aTtAcKeD". So was every other Skalitz resident yet even Kanush gets off his rump and works for you without giving you problems and genuinely shows gratitude for it. If Kanush, the drunken, loudmouth, violent idiot will change and actually work for his keep, there's no reason these 2 lazy parasites can't. Yet they always pull the "woe it's me" act but do NOTHING to help themselves or better their situation. They just want everyone else to fix the messes they get themselves into and then act like they did you a favour. So yeah, unless I want maximum profit at Pribyslavitz (Which I forget about after a week in game and have no need to collect the money anyway) I grass them up. I side with Andrew because instead of dropping him in, he actually has sense to NOT steal directly from a Lord for 1k. That's just so stupid it beggars belief. Not sure if this is still a hot take but I remember in the early life of this game, not liking these 2 lazy, good for nothing leeches was actually quite a polarising take.
@silversnail1413

Considering my playstyle, I just couldn't judge them. I pretty stole from everyone and killed whoever I pleased. I broke into the monastery and stabbed Pious to death because I was too lazy to do the stupid and horribly designed monk quest, which is surely enough to earn Henry a one-way ticket to hell anyway. With all the numerous atrocities I committed in this game, stealing from some workers seemed relatively minor and I even stealth killed them just to ensure there wouldn't be problems with the guards. After all, it's a dog-eat-dog world out there.
I always follow Henry's father advice, it's better to fight in wits and that always works
I think that beating up Thomas is the canon method. If you meet Matthew and Fritz in the inn after this, they will mention beating Thomas up, stealing his ring and getting kicked out of the mill. So even if you do put Thomas at ease or forve him to leave, the outcome is the same.
@SequentialGamer_KCD
3 жыл бұрын
It might be the case, but I'm not sure that that refers to any beating Henry took part in because they didn't actually take Thomas' ring.
instead of directly sorting out problem with Thomas, it is better to pickpocket scarf from him and then threaten him to leave Fritz and Mathew alone, that way he won't put any extra conditions and he will pay them extra for the job.

Yeah, it's a hidden option to look for the scarf. Presumably if you're spoken with the Millmaid but the scarf is there regardless.
During the quest to recover Adam's kettle and money, one of the charcoal burners will give you a "standard" ring if you accuse him of being the one who looted. That ring is a "magical" stealth ring. I think it lowers your sound and visibility. It's the guy with the same character model as Miller Simon

I don't think he did it. I think it was an accident by the fact no one suspects him and the fact him and the son were good friends. I personally think he's telling the truth and he's overly harsh because he wants to do right by the son and have a successful mill in his memory. After all everyone praises the son for him being a good foreman and a hard worker. I think Thomas is projecting and trying to force people a little too much because his standards were set by the son and probably inflated since his death. I don't think he did it tho, how could he know when, where and how the wagon would fall and fall on the guy? He's just a Miller, not a precognitiant evil master mind.

I think he did since the second he sees the millers daughter with the sons scarf he runs off not even trying to excuse himself or defend himself in anyway. @@SequentialGamer_KCD well it's not that the Miller doesn't want to be saved it's that he is in denial he doesn't even know that there is something for him to be saved from if he was 100% convinced of what actually happened to his son and the effect it had on his daughter I extremely doubt that he would want him to continue working there let alone trying to court and marry his daughter. I think the "good" or at least best option is to at least allow them to have complete information surrounding the incident and allow them to do with that information what they please the daughter murdering him is just what he gets that's what happens when you do evil you bring it upon yourself as well it doesn't just go away forever. I think the quest is less about what your friends want or what work needs to be done (especially considering the carpentry work is finished when they leave anyway) and the mystery surrounding the death/murder of a son/brother.
In my head canon Reeky came back to Ledetchko, married Jane and took over the mill after selling the tannery. People know him as Miller Hinek now.
There is another version of the outcome of events, satisfactory for everyone. We give the scarf to the miller's daughter, then we talk with Fritz and go to beat Thomas, who was about to play dice. After the cutscene, Jane comes and shows the scarf, after which Thomas, beaten, disappears from the mill forever.

Mathew and Fritz are prety bad characters overall
its nice to see there's these alternative ways
After 5 years and multiple playthroughs I hear for the first time that there is more depth to Ledetchko mill and it´s story. How did I miss it? The only thing I ever did was persuasion (insta solving) or brawls with Thomas. Never actually was I able to speak with Jane the millmaid, nor to get any useful information out of the miller himself! Guess it is time for another playthrough :)
If you talk to the mill formin about the scarf after getting the story from the daughter he makes up a story about it being lost in the mud from the rain so when you find it on him it's clear that he was lieing about the events of that night. Honestly I'm unclear if he meant to kill the brother or it happened by accident because of his incompetence because multiple people will call that out but he definitely has bad intentions about taking over the mill and having his way with jane once he has that power.
I think Thomas really is responsible for murder, and even if he isn't he stole Martin's scarf, which is despicable in of itself. I don't think you are framing him for murder if you take the scarf and go directly to Jane, as much as the scarf itself is. It's Jane that really implies so, and he doesn't even bother denying it.

I don't think he killed him, or wanted him to die, pretty sure he's not a good enough actor to fool Jane's brother. He did want Jane though so he stepped into the role and ruined the mill.
