Loki doesn’t show it, but he does love his mother and he never got the chance to be in the funeral. She was his teacher to show him how to use magic.

Odin at that current moment had no faith in Loki anymore. but the mother kept her love with him, Thor was same as Odin, but was still on speaking terms with Loki. It wasn't until Odin was about to die, he acknowledged Loki.

When the TVA showed Loki that his mother died because of him, it broke him so badly he didn’t want to believe what he was seeing. The only person who still believed in him died because of him.

1:47 A very important scene for me - The Soldier took off his helmet, abandoned his post, went to the cell alone and gave his condolences to Loki himself. i adored this guy, even knowing that Loki was a danger he showed him all the respect he deserved for the loss of his mother that show of empathy broke Loki here, Loki didn't just continued reading, pretending he didn't hear anything, the guard took him by surprise, Loki looked at him, listened to him and nodded with gratitude, not everyone can achieve something like that from Loki. ​

@@atharvabarwe987 Loki's reaction was not at all because the soldier told him something as simple as "the queen died." as if the news of her death was not known for Asgard and his prisioners before the funeral, The fact that he takes off his helmet shows a lot of respect and condolences when giving him a few words.

After all those years this scene is still a masterpiece

Loki just wanted his father's approval and his mother's love and respect. His search for power and purpose drove him to do things that were against the norm. Ultimately, he lost his entire family in an attempt to find his purpose, which he finally found was to sacrifice himself for others, like the true hero he always wanted to be.

Loki largely blamed himself for Frigga's death as he inadvertently gave Kurse directions straight to her from the dungeons, although he was hoping the Dark Elf would find and kill Thor.

Kinda sad that Loki wasn’t there at his mother’s funeral, but at least they had enough curtesy to tell him what had happened.

1:19 Heimdal’s sadness always gets me. I wonder if he could see her enter Valhala, or see her spirit leave this realm confirming shes truly gone

Say what you want about the Thor films. Scenes like this make me love all of them up to this day as among my favourite movies of all time

I don’t care what anyone says. I still like Thor 2.

At least Thor was able to see her again in Avengers: Endgame and Loki saw his alternate timeline and how his mom got killed through his decision.

Imagine how embarrassing it would've been if the archer missed the shot

when Loki grasps the extent of his miscalculation, it undoes all in his persona. Loki, before that point and after knew in his soul he was the son of Odin and Frigga, yet he acted as if he was not. His actions lead to the death of his mother, full stop. Loki lives with that realization on a daily basis; his pettiness made way for his mother's execution. trust his rage

The music though,made this scene so epic🖤

Thank god the archer didn't miss the shot, not like in Game of Thrones 😐

Watching this scene feels like it came somewhere from Lord of the Rings.

The Dark World is the best thor movie. Period. Serious, Gritty. Thor is a warrior here unlike the clown Watiti made him

Just because he’s got galaxy spanning senses doesn’t mean he’s omniscient. Also in Ragnarok he was a fugitive from Asgard. I think he had more immediate priorities to deal with that took precedence over scanning the galaxy for Thanos.

This scene really proves how powerful Odin actually was. He just effortlessly create stars

Had the same thought when watching First Knight years ago. Archer misses and now the boat is even farther away, so the next shot is even harder than the previous too-difficult one. “Quickly give me another arrow. Actually, just keep them coming.”

To all the people who blame Loki for Frigga's death. The monsters were not there because of Loki and secondly, Loki sent them to Thor, not Frigga. If a "hero" makes a mistake (Thor taking Jane to Asgard), it's an easily forgettable mistake which can be redeemed. If a "villian" does it (Loki sending them to Thor) it's his fault, it's his purpose and he will never change.

This film at least had its moments. While it may not be the most memorable of the Thor series, a lot of major events still took place in it that shaped the events that took place in the more memorable sequels.
