I always thought if you got a group of 39 people together how hard it would be to get them all to agree on any given topic, much less consensual mass suicide with the intent of hitching a ride on a comet. I was stationed out there at the time & found it both disturbing and astonishing.

These experts would be wrong. The "crazy old guy" who was their guru, got their attention and approval. These people made the choice to follow him instead of having normal lives with their families. It was a symbiotic relationship. I think their families should be glad, they went how they wanted to go. Remember, we all die and some of us, in very unpleasant ways, so we should keep in mind, there is always a choice and it is personal. People over the millennia have been controlled by various religions that are a form of programming, while dictating a certain behavior , expectations and conformities. These take away all and any personal choices people have over their existence. They become sheep. It is not how humanity moves forward. We all have inherent expectations of our lives ; including our personal quest for advancement . We know we should be more " service to others" as opposed to " service to self ", but we do have to make a living, therefore, we are mainly, STS, which , according to advanced civilizations, could be our downfall. That is catch-22. Maybe we are programmed to fail.

yes, it was certainly strange and most people could not understand what had happened. Currently, we have Russian armies shoot missiles over buildings in Ukraine, killing many innocent women and children. Putin denies he is doing it, but here they are, moving in and killing. Why ? who knows ? Putin has lies and manipulations to justify his actions. He is not aware, he has turned into a monster, if he was not already one, for a very long time. What are we doing about it ? we should be outraged, but our lives go on as usual. This is way worse than these adults committing suicide.

When people commit suicide due to depression ( mostly ) and mental agony, it is difficult for the families as they feel, they failed their loved ones. They did what they could to help but it was not successful. When adults, join a cult that evidently resonates to what they believe, it is different. It is their choice, their private lives, to find their path and destiny. I would send these people my best wishes and plant a lovely tree over their cremated remains. That is what I would have done if a member of my family had been in that group. No need for outrage ! it is what they wanted. Respect is always important. Forgiveness for what you cannot understand is best. Let it go.

Sadly, the very same thing is happening on a mass scale today: mostly kids, youth, and young adults, and mostly girls/young women being brainwashed to believe they're somehow born in the wrong body, and almost the entire medical profession "affirming" this belief, and giving them powerful, dangerous puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and castrating (sterilizing) surgeries, and having healthy body parts sometimes cut off. And the entire country and world are being brainwashed into accepting this. Anyone who speaks out risks getting ostracized and cancelled, possibly losing their livelihood. Fortunately, detranstioners are speaking out, and hopefully waking up the world about how they were drawn into this cult and its web of lies to become their "authentic selves", convinced that they must have these devastating surgeries or risk suicide or a life of misery if they don't. Today, Sat. Mar. 12, 2022 is Detrans Awareness Day. To hear more about their stories, from detransitioners themselves, and how you can support them, visit detrans awareness dot org.

@@helen5118 Great questions! Thanks for asking! They make a variety of decisions, each person individually. Some only "transitioned" socially (changing name, pronouns, clothing, hairstyle, etc., no physical changes), so they may just revert to how they presented beforehand, including resuming their birth name. This is called "desistance" from a "trans" identity. "Detransitioners," on the other hand, are people who had taken medical steps (puberty blocking drugs, cross-sex hormones, and/or surgeries) to cosmetically "transition," who later decided it wasn't the right pathway for them. Some go off the cross-sex hormones, some take their own sex's hormones to restore as much as they can of their health if needed, some have reconstructive surgeries if possible, and to the degree possible. The surgeries are never fully reversible. I have no idea what an eyebrow lift is, lol, but yes, these surgeries and hormones can really add up. I think a 6-month course of puberty blockers costs something like $6000+. Most "trans" kids put on them are on them for a median of 3 1/2 years (?). So blockers alone are crazy-expensive, and dangerous. Sadly, activists have pushed successfully to have all these medical steps covered by public and private health insurance. So you and I are paying for this. Some still have to pay out of pocket, though. There are 40,000(?) young women on Go F*nd Me seeking money for double mastectomies of their healthy breasts to "transition" cosmetically. Activists also promote recruits prostituting themselves online or offline to pay for medicalization. Apparently, detransition medical care and counseling are not covered, which is one of the things detransitioners and allies are advocating for. If you go to Detrans Awareness dot org, you'll find a printable flyer with the addresses of politicians to call, tweet, email, or send a brief postcard to, to advocate for funding detrans healthcare. These are folks who seriously need support. There is tons of info on that web site if you have more questions (or you can ask me, but you'll get a lot more info on there.)

until death, then the soul separates and joins the energy . I think the trick is to avoid that re-incarnation control. I expect the old guy Applewhite had gotten some information, there may be a barrier around earth that keeps souls from joining into the cosmos. That is where they wanted to go and not come back to earth as a form of controlled slaves. We know, we certainly are that. Is is becoming more obvious, we are even getting our Constitution compromised. We see mandates that should not be and billionaires control our former ethical institutions. I do not follow any religion but I am a spiritual person, connected to all sentient elements of our environment. I respect all beings, animals, vegetation, mother earth....That is true integrity. Respect comes next. .

You know, the founder wasn't all that much off. March 13, 1997 the "Phoenix Lights" UFO craft flew right over my head. Research done, from 2PM that day until 5am the next day 10 craft were seen flying from north to south from Eastern California to Western New Mexico. One spotted western Arizona estimated to be 8 miles wide. The craft I saw was about 1 mile wide. Retired Sheriff from the Navajo Nation said on March 11-12 there were multiple craft spotted over and landing on their land. So many his neighbors took their furniture to the front yard to watch them. Large and small craft, some landing at a distance and beings getting out to work on the crafts they were in. SOMETHING at that time went on with UFOs. Odd this founder knew craft were coming at that time. Everyone I know that saw them had a positive experience. I've no idea if anyone was taken away.

I think it's the other way around ... when some whacked out nut job wants people to follow him to his death, he calls it a 'religion'. If we've seen nothing in the past 50 years, it's people of a political belief who would follow their leader to his death than just religious belief but they'll do it and call it 'religion'. In Jonestown that absolutely was not the case! Many were shot in the back! Plus yeah they were exploited & tortured but not 1 had any doubts or anything! That kind of control over 39 people is very disturbing & unheard of! I truely wonder if any of them knew what they were drinking? If they were deprived of water for many hours & things like that & were only given drinks at a certain time every day then went to bed it may have been more routine than voluntary? If it was tasteless oderless & slow acting? That may be why none resisted no-one had doubts of any kind because it was very unsuspected by any of them! 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

What is clear is that Might Makes Right - if a cult has few members, it is a Death Cult - "preying upon hurting people giving them false hopes" - but if the same cult has millions of members it gets to strut around making the very same cheap promises and is now a Respected Institution!

I look back on my young, vulnerable years and I dabbled in similar groups, quasi religious, New Age, personal growth....though not so extreme. But in every case I did not stick around....In the end I always saw them for what they were - attempts to manipulate. I did not go the full route and join, else I might very well have ended up in something much like Heaven's Gate. It is part of the human organism to want to belong. Man is a social creature. And once a cult leader can find your weak spots and then manipulate them to the group's advantage, it doesn't take long before a person is enrolled, and then...indoctrinated. When you look from the outside, you can be angry, horrified, incredulous or however you please. But if you are 'searching' for meaning in life- the allure is strong; and this is one source from which a cult can draw its power. And twist it to ensnare others.

Where did it go ? watch these people who have near death experiences; very interesting they seem to relate to what ever concept they have of the after life, like a Matrix. I expect holograms and CGI maybe. Since they come back, we do not know how far they go. I know I do not want to re-incarnate, as I expect it is high on the spectrum of recruiting. Energy is indestructible and it is what we really are, once we leave these organic shells, that are so vulnerable and at times, troublesome. Certainly limiting. I just am sad that people have to do this to another person While they’re parents are crying every night and other family members too cry for them to come home, I couldn’t imagine that feeling, and yet they have the nerve to call themselves God, Since when does God or anything in the Bible say, you can’t be Transgender or Gay, or you’re not brushing your teeth right Basically when does he come in and tells us how to live our lives? He doesn’t God let’s us choose our paths He lets us decide our freedom, he doesn’t tell us how to live life and tell us how to do a simple task. That’s not who he is!!! So how dare they have the nerve to tell people they’re God!!!
