Friedman Runt 50 + HOTMOD V2! (Sound Check)

Update: It should be noted that the 12AU7 is Infact a JJ 12AT7. It is labeled wrong in this video.
In this episode we take a look at the ‪@FriedmanAmplification‬ Runt 50 and we add in a ‪@LegendaryTones‬ Hot Mod V2 Evo and see if it improves the sound for the better.

Thanks for the video! Just one key thing is we actually switched the first position tube to a 12AT7/ECC81 (not 12AU7) from the original dual 12AX7. What it does is enable the amp to have better note definition while also clean up more smoothly and naturally when you roll down your guitar’s own volume control.

If you had a guitar with a Lace Deathbucker in the bridge you probably wouldn’t ever need any kind of boost in front of your amp if you set the Hot Mod right in conjunction with the boost. I’d say you’d be right about turning the bass boost off, and you could probably get some really good high gain tones going straight in with no external boost with pickups like EMG 81’s or Fluence Moderns.
