😆 this Thorn guy gives me terrible G.A.S. I can only watch Pete Thorn in limited amounts , my bank manager says so.

I got the Dirty Shirley pedal because the BE-OD didn't have a mid knob. It has been AMAZING but I think i want this pedal because of the mid knob and the 2 channel option + it sounds badass.

I wish we had some of these pedals back in the 80s when I was in high school. It is truly awesome that you don’t even have to spend thousands on an amp anymore, because everything can be boiled down to a pedal.

Always inspirational, never disappointing. Nicely done and much thanks Pete!

The tight switch is really interesting. The mid potentiometer is also a great upgrade.

Pete....awesome review! I finally bought the pedal thanks to your video. Best review for this Friedman OD. You really want to show hot it works, and you dial everything with the pedal in front of my face. I like that!!! It is a killer pedal with a huge range, you can cover a lot of styles. Amazing, sounds...just incredible. It is worth pointing out that you can also limit the maximum gain of each channel, in case, for example, that you wanted only different in Eq. and volume between channels. Again, great review! thanks

I just bought the original BE pedal, this one seemed like it's going a bit overboard. However, after playing the original, I found myself using it as the heart of my high gain sound. I'll probably need to get one of these to have the lead/rhythm functionality. Great work to Dave Friedman!

Ye ok you know what? We all should just buy a Pete Thorn. Not some friedman or headrush or whatever. Some company has to produce Pete Thorns. Because what the hell, you are too awesome and talented. Everything you review sounds great. So probably, for us normal people, the only way to sound like this is to get a Pete Thorn and let him play... Ah, by the way, great demo! I really wish duel channel pedals like this had a remote jack to use with switchers like the Bogner Ecstasy pedals. I’ve just ordered the Suhr Eclipse over this because of the remote switching ability.

Just picked this pedal up today. It's going to replace my suhr eclipse which I loved. The be od deluxe feels and sounds way more amp like. Has a ton of volume and gain on tap and killer sustain! The 3 position tight switch and presence and eq controls for each channel are great. Way more tonal possibilities! Killer amp like pedal!

How about the noise? I've been thinking about getting a revv g3/g4 or this beod deluxe, the two channels in one pedal and the presence knob are a big plus for me.

@@alxdrksoul not too noisy. I had the g3 too. The revv was super noisy. The be of deluxe is way more versatile, less noisy and sounds better

Fantastic job, Pete... though that's par for the course. :-) The pedal sounds great, too, and I was impressed with how it handled the different guitars you put into it... sounded great on all of them.

It would be sweeter if there were separate ins and outs for both channels, that way I could use my loop switcher presets to control the pedal.

I like it being 2 channels. I wish they would add a noise gate like the EVH MXR

The red channel is 80s high gain as you'd expect but I especially like the blue channel. If you crank it way down you can get a Cream type really bluesy sound.

Late to the party. One of these arriving tomorrow. Fantastic review. Must admit, one of the first pedals of the last half dozen where Andy (from Reverb) wasn't t a deciding factor. 😉

I know that's an old video but I ordered a Friedman BE-OD Deluxe today and I wanted to see what kind of tests had been made, especially from Pete...!!! 😁 But I have a little complain on this preamp pedal! (Yes, it's definitly a preamp pedal...☺️) My complain is not about the tight pot which had been switched over a 3 positions toggle switch, I find it pretty cool and simpler, but they really should have put a Resonance knob in complement of the Presence one, a mini pot would have been just enough like the Presence mini pot!!! And with all those twikable features you could easily go straight in the PA with a simple IR cab/mic simul pedal... For those who use FRFR cabs it would have been the perfect tool for massive destruction tones!!!😂😂

I suppose that the three-pos tight switch could be enough, but for me the tight knob on the original BE-OD was a major selling point. I cannot imagine choosing this over the original - I'd be more likely to buy two BE-ODs.

Pete I just bought the regular beod 2 weeks back from Andertons along with Polara, and now 😩

Jesus Christ why isn't Pete in the list of greats? No guitar players that I talk to even know who he is and that's a damn shame because the man is not only a tone God, but an amazing player as well.

I was so impressed on yesterday's LiveStream where you talked about creating these tunes with purpose and not just noodling mindlessly over the chord progression you create like so many other musicians do. It is plainly obvious how much care you put into these creations and your love for what you do. Thanks for your knowledge and these amazing demos! Quick question. How would you describe the gain on this pedal vs the Suhr Eclipse? I have the Eclipse and love it! Thoughts?

Best intro 'demo' for any pedal video...can we get that in a spotify link?? I didn't even need to watch the rest to want this pedal (but did anyway). Sounds great. And whatever the mix/master settings are for that demo are sweet.

Just run a clean boost into it and ya pretty much got the second chanel . I have the deluxe and the lower channel.sounds killer when I put a boost in front of this pedal

That tap+bend at 0:40 was stupid cool. Nice track!

Nice demo! Alot of the others that I've heard sound a bit muddy. Yours sounds nice. Did you get the impression of lots of low frequently in the circuit?

Hey Pete, did you do any post EQ processing to the Friedman tracks? My recorded tracks have more mid range (not a bad thing) but I had to cut some mids to make it sounded stellar. Amazing pedal I must say, no bad tones coming out over here. Keep the great content coming!

This pedal seems awesome. I got the small box pedal for Christmas but I’m finding it’s not producing quite as much gain as I like for certain things. It has a great overall tone though. This BE OD deluxe seems like a better fit for what I’m looking for. I kind of like that slash AFD tone, a bit more gain than what the small box is doing. Do you think this would be a nether choice ?

Bought one of these 'previously enjoyed' based on this review. I am feeding a killer old non-master 1973 Marshall into a Greenback loaded 4x12. This Marshall is capable of almost 'fenderish' good cleans - add a touch of verb and chorus, and its a damn good clean sound. Then with 2 entirely different drives from the BE OD Deluxe, it really is a true, no BS 3-channel amp. Thank you for yet another ultra-cool, ultra-helpful demonstration / review!!!!

How does the Be-od Deluxe compare to the Abasi Pathos? The Friedman obviously wins on features since it is dual channel, but what are the tonal differences? Do you have at preference? Anyway, really great reviews on both pedals!

A question. I am an old guy, so I have to front load everything. I just have to. I feel strange using an effects loop. Anyway, I have noticed to my chagrin that when I use a delicate pedal, like the Oceans 11, for example, and I precede it with power, like the BE-OD or Dark Side, the effects of the reverb unit are hard to hear, and the presence of the overdrives also fades. Any suggestions?

W_Sindarius Learn to use the effects loop...put all your delays reverb chorus there, on the front of the amp put od’s wah’s flangers...sounds better that way

Hey Pete, how does this pedal compare to the Carl Martin Plexitone pedal that you helped design?

Would really appreciate if you can showcase these mid & hi-gain pedals with some SSS strat style guitars!
