Yeah, Pete is one of the few famous people who truly deserve it. Tim pierce is another. Super awesome nice guy and super humble.
You should be the poster child of how to do a gear demo RIGHT. Not only do you dial tones that flatter the pedal, but you show all that the pedal is capable of, both in and out of a mix as well as into every type of amp setup. No opinion of the pedal, but the reviewer is truly an expert. Thank you.

Using the looped track and watching you tweak the controls real time is SOOOOOO informative. Thanks dude! Killer idea and would love to see it in more demos!
A good few people have commented here about the background hiss, so I thought I'd share my experience with it, having owned one for over 2 years. Assuming everyone is using a decent quality isolated power supply, I find that this pedal has so much gain on tap, it really is only suited to sitting in front of a clean or very slightly "edge of breakup" amp. I've tried the internal trim pot in all positions on various settings of a JMP master volume that is already in overdrive to see if I could get anything useable, but the bottom line is, it just doesn't work that well for THAT scenario. Even with the internal trim pot turned down, you start to turn the gain up, and before you know it you have excessive hiss before you get into the great mid/high gain tone that we know this pedal can achieve. The big however is, set your amp clean and leave the trim pot at 50% (or slightly under) and those tones are in there. Most people's problem will be that it won't sit well on their board with the rest of their drive pedals, because many of those work so well into an already overdriven amp. I really like this pedal, but I only use it in certain scenarios. For example, It works really well when l want to use distortion with a looper pedal with the JMP. It doesn't have an effects loop, so the looped signal has to go into the front end, therefore the amp needs to be set set clean to prevent distorting/compressing the loop, however you still achieve that great heavy, high-gain tone from the BE-OD pedal. I hope some people find this useful, I know it is frustrating when you see an amazing player like Pete demo gear and everything sounds great, only for you to part with your hard-earned cash to be disappointed.
love it Pete, your demos and playing always amazing
Well done, Pete! Thank you for introducing this pedal to us. Sounds amazing!
Killer Overdrive... Fantastic Tone. Tight and not sizzly-cranked on the ears nor too treble-scooped. Love it!
That's the tone I've always heard in my head, punch, clean, great gain, chewy. Perfect got one longing to. Arrive
Absolutely outstanding. Best OD I've heard you play through on one of your videos. I love your new technique of playing a loop and tweaking the pedal, really helps to show how you tune in those killer tones.
Hello Pete, Thanks for making our musical lives better through your OUTSTANDING videos! I have been playing for 45 years and my musical world has improved significantly because of your videos; they are life changing, seriously. I just ordered this pedal and I can't wait to plug in...Thanks, Rick
Great demo!!! Ingenious using the looper so you could manipulate the pedal knobs! Awesome playing, and THANK YOU for taking the time to do these reviews!

Every damned time, in every damned video, you rock brother. Nice work again.
Pete, thanks for doing this to the level you did. You're a very inspiring musician and this certainly helped me decide to buy this pedal. Have a good one, mate!
This is just a great demo. Love the tone soooo much!!
The BE-OD is awesome, plus great playing as usual from Pete. I've found that the best tones I've gotten out of this pedal has come from turning the internal trim pot all the way down. Out of the box, this pedal has a huge, enormous amount of gain. Gotta harness the power and ride the lightning!

What does the internal trim pot do? I know it's an old comment but I want to know before buying one.
@kevinminney9413
Жыл бұрын
@@MICKEYISLOWD The trim pot basically adjusts the level of gain coming from the pedal, so it really lets you hone in on specific tones. I dialed the trim pot back quite a bit and got a nice, full light overdrive tone without getting into sheer insanity. Because this pedal does do that extremely well too 😂

It sounded like he went from unremarkable clean tone to a 100w high gain head. Huge difference with lots of power. One of the best pedals I have ever listened to.
I need a hot-rodded strat like that! Perfection!
My wife just bought me this pedal the other day (ya, she's a keeper, I know!) and I freakin LOVE it (and my wife lol)! It is, hands down, the best OD/dist I've ever played through - and with such a small footprint.
Great demo. What a pedal!!! Sounds so amp-like, don't think I've ever heard a pedal so natural and open sounding. Amazing!
Great review Pete, picked one up today. More distortion than overdrive pedal unless you trim the internal pot completely horizontal. At factory settings on the lowest gain you get a classic AC/DC crunch, trim the pot and you have one of the best overdriven sounds I've heard from a pedal, TS9 and TS808 goodness, its that good. Triming the pot still gives you days of gain but also the benefit of a smooth to bitty overdriven sound which is up there with the best IMO.
Hi Pete great demo! We just hope that you will demo it using a fender amp or vox amp.
Wow, that's some glowing praise. It sounds great!
Sounds amazing, Pete! Pre-Ordered mine for the end of August release!
This pedal is destined to be a classic. Get 'em while they're still affordable.

Killing it Pete!!! Great demo!! Dave builds stupid good stuff!
your playing through about $6000 dollars worth of shit before you even turn on the pedal so i dont find this to be a true test of the pedal, try a clean channel jcm 2000 or a cheap fender champ clean channel so we can really see what this pedal can do, if i had the kind of gear you are playing on i wouldnt even need the pedal, BUT.... you definitely know how to play thats for sure, great musician and songwriter....

that Suhr Badger amp is definitely not that much better than a jcm2000 amp man, so it is a true test of the pedal. Ok, Pete has a good guitar but the badger is very average level amp. This pedal sounds fantastic through any half decent valve amp.
