    adding a 10 band EQ on the Friedman would probably help a lot. I think the advantage of this pedal is the ease of use without the need of having the Katana hook on software

    I bough the Friedman be od to pair with my katana mkii 212/100 and as much as i tried, i'm not happy with that pedal, i feel it was such a waste of money, I'm trying to get a sylosis (dorman heart or edge of the earth) tone but i haven't been able to do it, I know josh middleton uses a marshall jmp 1977, but since the katana is such a versatil amp i though I could get that amazing tone with the help of an external overdrive like the BE od but it didn't happen :(

    You need to go Inyo Boss Tone Studio for that tone. And it's one that's on my todo list :) Cheers

    About the Brown channel vs this pedal... The Katana Brown channel is based on a Soldano SLO-100, not a Friedman BE-100. Similar, yes, but that's because they are both hot rodded JCM800's with more gain in them. That said, not exactly the same channel and it would help if you'd demonstrate that with single coils. Also, have you checked the sustain? The cleanup? At first glance sure, they sound pretty much the same, but if you look into it, you might change your opinion.

    Very similar indeed in high gain channels. The Friedman sounds better.

    Yes 👍 you are correct in my opinion. This pedal is a monster!! I have one through the katana 100. The biggest difference is the volume and tweaking the knobs with that pedal on you can't even compare it to anything on the tune studio in my opinion. That's just my opinion

    So you are saying it's not worth getting this pedal because the speaker is not good enough to demonstrate the capability of this pedal. Have you found any metal distortion pedal that works well with Katana?

  • @JucaNeryGuitar

    @JucaNeryGuitar

    Sort of, it's very similar to the Brown channel. I've tested many distortion pedals and to be honest they all sound good, but I don't seen in my case, the need to use one with this amp. Cheers
