Friday The 13th: The Series - "Eye Of Death" (1989) Supernatural Civil War Episode

Ойын-сауық

"Eye of Death" first aired on February 4, 1989 and in this story, a devious antiques dealer uses a magic lantern to travel back to the Civil War so he can steal artifacts from dead soldiers.
An old antique dealer made a pact with the Devil to sell cursed antiques. When he dies, his store is inherited by his niece Micki Foster (played by Louise Robey) and her cousin Ryan Dallion (played by John D. LeMay). With the help of Jack Marshak (played by Chris Wiggins), they fight to retrieve the antiques from the people who bought them to stop them from causing harm. The series ran for three seasons, from October 3, 1987, to May 26, 1990, in first-run syndication.
Despite this title of the series, it has no story connections to the film series of the same title, as Jason Voorhees does not make an appearance, nor does any character connected to the films.

Among the first TV series to air on the newly minted Fox Network. Maybe the first rated 'R' series due to the engrossing, violent content for its day.

I love when the goofy guy from our present moment told the woman in the past that no one thinks ill of her confederate relatives 😂😂😂😂 I mean, it was nice of him to try and make her feel better, but as a historian and literature scholar, everyone I know most certainly does think quite poorly of the traitorous, coup attempting, slave owning confederacy!! 😂

Historical whitewashing in action-- (34:50) Southern Woman: "The South's gonna lose the war?" Ryan: "...." Southern Woman: "Then Zach and Paul died for nothing." Ryan: "No, no. They died for something they believed in. They made the country stronger than it been before." "In my time nobody thinks badly of them." Sadly, white people like myself agreed with that in 1980's. Fortunately, many of us eventually went through the hassle of actually studying history and our opinions changed.
