Friday the 13th Pt. 2 (1981) John Furey Interview

Фильм және анимация

As head counselor, Paul Holt, John Furey fought off Jason Voorhees to become the first final boy of the “Friday the 13th” franchise… well, sort of. Tune in to hear all about making the first sequel in this slasher series, how co-star Amy Steel got him to start attending horror conventions, and, of course, his thoughts on that very ambiguous ending for his character.

The campfire scene with Paul telling the story about Jason is arguably the best scene in the entire series in my opinion. Definitely one of the best jump scares. It appears in quite a few of the sequels for a very good reason.

Right? It's such a classic, defining scene. There's something about a campfire story moment that is so appealing. It would have been fun to be a fly on the wall when they filmed it.

This just totally unexpectedly solved a mystery for me. I couldn't find anything about how Cheir Maugans's first name was pronounced, and I had been wondering about that for quite a while, and then John Furey just winds up saying it!!!

That is so funny….. this one along with The Final Chapter are my all time favorite Friday Flicks…. Been a fan since the early 90s…. Before internet days…. Never knew his “fate” was an issue…. Always thought he had been taken in another ambulance and Ginny was sedated….

Honestly, it wasn’t until I had full internet access and discovered Horror Forums that I learned Paul’s Fate was open to speculation….. love the movie though….

Friday the 13th pt. 3 would've been a hell of alot better if they brought Amy and John back.

Ha! I was 20 and in college when Queer as Folk came out….. in art school nonetheless….. LOVED THE SHOW….. watching it as a professional adult in the advertising, apparel decorating business with “life experiences”….. I find the show to be embarrassingly far fetched….. Brian is a “marketing genius” who does the job of 5 people and his only idea is to put on a hunk in a speedo on “EVERYTHING”…… Justin is an “art genius”?…… yet his skill level is beyond high school arts and crafts level….. and all the lewd things that happen in Babylon would be enough to have the place shut down and have the liquor license revoked….. also that’s supposed to be “working class Pennsylvania” and they all look like aspiring male models…. One thing I love though….. TED turns out to be the most “human” character and the one anybody can relate to…..

Hah, it's so funny looking back at that show now. It was eye opening for a lot of us, but it definitely asked the audience to suspend their disbelief quite a bit, and be forgiving of a lot of ridiculous things. Still, there was nothing else like it and hasn't really been since!

Oh….. I still LOVE THE SHOW….: still love how unapologetically irreverent Brian is…. And still he has a heart… it still has great character moments…. It’s just as an adult Ted, Debbie and Vic come across as the most well rounded….
