There is no need to explain it either.

We can't know for sure We know Dearest is extremely powerful, but to what extent exactly we're not sure. Realistically, NMI can only do so much to Dearest, and I highly doubt that he would win if a fight actually got physical Mentally though NMI can cripple Dearest by taking his daughter away, though that could backfire and just cause Dearest to try and kill him outright Depending on NMI's fighting capabilities and general resistance it's a toss up
