This was so great. I love how you did the test! As always your deep dive into formulation/ingredients is educational/outstanding!. I have been using the Kaine Kombucha for about 9 months or so. (I pronounce it Cane also..like the Cane River in La!) I now know how to pronounce it. The reason I even tried it was an affordable alternative to the Dr, Ceuracle Kombucha. I love both!

Love love love your video!!! I have used Fresh kombucha and so obsessed with the tea scent. However, once I tried sheet masking with Fresh, my skin was itchy and on the edge of breakout :))) Maybe it's because of the fermented ingredient, fragrance, etc. idk :))) So I will try Kaine kombucha since it's more vegan.

I DO agree that the source of the tea and specific processes used in brewing are just as important as a favorite brand of root beer. You can taste the difference. I want to try some reusable silicone masks and get creative with the areas in the face. I am always trying to subtract extra waste that goes in the garbage. This was an interesting comparison and bonus discovery of masks. ✨

That’s a brilliant idea! Let me know if you stumble upon any full face silicone masks that are smaller. In the meantime, I can say I like pacifica’a reusable spot patches, but those promise a smaller number of uses than the over-the-ears silicone masks (which sadly, I’ve tried two of now, and those are face and hair masks for me. Not the 2-in-1 I was going for 😅😆)

Great comparison video! I searched all of your videos to see if you have the same dupe or something similar for the AMOREPACIFIC essence. My skin loves the stuff!

I love my Kaine Kombucha Ampule Toner, I have recently opened my third bottle. I feel like my mature skin/rosacea has tolerated the Kaine well and it feels soothing when my skin is inflamed. I have noticed an improved luminosity, but I use the Kaine with other products, so I cannot say it is the only reason. I have recently begun to use it as a sheet mask and this makes me want to continue.

It is bizarre how much of a difference it makes!! I feel like it’s one of those things I knew deep down, but I kind of forget due to time constraints lol 😆

Great comparison, I was eagerly waiting for the month to pass 😅 I used up around half of bottle of Kaine kombucha toner, use it everyday, enjoying it. There is an observation I want to share - as fermented products are supposed to help with efficacy and absorption of other products, I find the combo of Medicube Airshot (2x a week), Kaine and then my actives to be especially effective. Anecdotal of course, but still..! 😂

Great minds! I love the medicube devices. I do wish I understood how some of them work a bit better, but I feel the same. Anecdotally, I do think they deliver on their promises!

Honestly, I think you could get similar results from a ceramide serum/moisturizer + the Kaine toner. But it is quite convenient that the Dr. C combines them both. I’m non-answering because I really do think both are great, but here’s what I’d do: if I had a ceramide product, I’d get the Kaine. If I didn’t, I’d get the Dr. C. Hope that helps!

I knew it. I had the Fresh Kombucha essence and while it felt nice, I didn’t feel like it did anything. Thankfully I ONLY invested $38 for the MINI version of it, but I was not impressed. Definitely interested in the Kaine Kombucha essence (Ka-ee-nae 카이네) 😊

Ok, the before... Your skin looks great!! It does look less red & more evened out after, but you have great skin nonetheless!!

have you tried other Kaine products?

I used a few products from Kaine and only samples of Fresh with Cult Beauty orders. I prefer Kaine because Fresh is too expensive and also just too fragranced, and irritating for my skin because of it. I love Kaine though, I didn’t thing they are good dupes because of the fragrance in Fresh. I like the Dr Ceurcle Kombucha essence as well.

I kind of wonder if the fresh mildly irritated my skin too. It wasn’t something I saw overnight, but over the course of a month…eh, that side looks a little less happy than the Kaine side!

LOL don't feel bad I pronounced it the same way you did. Ur always so helpful with these product try videos but I already know I can't use the fresh version but the question is what is the better essence fresh or sk11 🤣 I already know the anwser I'm just being a smart ass. U need to try the Scinic Prestige 8x fermented essence and see what the deal is do it side by side with the SK it's like 20$ and I hear it's amazing I have almost bought it a few times but I'm buying it read tons of great reviews and it even has the smell I hear of the glactomices suposedly. I have a feeling it's gonna be a good one .

@@AliceintheRabbitHole it may not be sk11 that's gonna be hard to beat but it maybe a good one for in-between u know when money is short. I have read a few peoples reviews saying they use sk11 and this was very close and they use it when they are out or money is alittle short ya know when it's the 1 st of the month and all your bills have to be paid at the same time. LoL I think it's worth a shot the regular Scinic essense was nice no sk11 but nice so I can imagine this one being really good to and it has the 8 x the ferments . I really don't think we will ever find something as good as sk11 even other expensive essence don't really compare .

Quite hydrating, but truly, for more of an impact, try the toner pads method! I really think that gives any hydrating toner a boost. You could also try the 7-step method (doesn’t have to be 7 layers: doubling or tripling up on toner application makes an impact!)

Am I the only one whose skin hated SKII? Had one of the worst breakouts of my adult life (only other was from Drunk Elephant products at a separate time) and it took months to recover! Someone could give me the whole line of either of those brands and I'd throw them in the trash because I wouldn't set my friends up like that. My skin is sensitive but Fresh products don't break it out- just wish they weren't so fragranced because it’s so unnecessary... I have been using the Fresh essence for half a year, and it's alright but essence in general is completely superfluous in skincare imo.

@@AliceintheRabbitHole I got the Skin1004 Centella Soothing Cream in my Vana box. I have dry skln, but this seems so nice. It is more of s gel, but it feels really moisturizing. It may be great choice for your skin type.

I love kombucha enought to brew my own, and part of me wants it to be completely magical (picture a Dr. Bronner's label 😆) - but in a non-pseudoscience way. I'm glad to see a more budget-friendly alternative to the Fresh! I did just receive an enormous jug of the Tonymoly Wonder ceramide toner, though, which probably serves the same purpose...

Good observation tbh. Ceramides and humectants = a proven duo! But I’m also with you on encouraging the ✨magic✨ in kombucha ahaha. I hope we do eventually see more research into the skin microbiome and how postbiotics/ferments affect it!
