French Sable Cookies | Sable Breton| French butter cookies
Ingredients:
All purpose flour -2&1/4 cup+1 tablespoon ( 300g)
Sugar-1/2 cup ( 100 g) powder it for easy mixing.
Unsalted butter -200g ( softened)
salt -1/4 teaspoon
Egg-1 ( at room temperature)
Vanilla essence -1/2 teaspoon
Method:
1. Beat the butter for 1 minute.
2. Add the sugar and vanilla and beat until smooth and creamy.
3. Add the egg and mix until combined.
4. Add flour and salt and mix until a dough is formed.
5. Cover and refrigerate for 30-60 minutes.
6. After 30 minutes take out and roll out into thin sheets.
7. Cut it using cookie cutter. Dip the cookie cutter in dough for proper cut.
8. Transfer into a baking tray lined with parchment paper. It is recommended to keep in refrigerator for 15 minutes.
9. Preheat the oven at 180°C for 10 minutes.
10. Bake at 180°C for
12-15 minutes.
11. Optionally you can fill with jam.
