French Elections 2024 : Thousands Gather In Paris To Protest Far-Right Surge | News18 | N18G

Thousands gathered on Wednesday in Paris to protest the results of the first round of the French legislative elections after the far-right National Rally party secured the most votes.
Multiple unions, independent media and citizens' organisations were behind the demonstration calling on voters to block the rise of the far right for the second round of the elections scheduled for Sunday.
Many present fear a far-right victory could curtail civil liberties due to the National Rally’s history of xenophobia and antisemitism.

We are back to the same old argument of who controls the word 'Democracy.' In France, if 'your' political party wins that's democracy, but when another party gets the most votes, from what was essentially a 3 horse race, then somehow that isn't democracy in action? Not only will you disrespect the people's choice you will also collude to prevent the people's choice from their rightful victory. Even if it means forming an alliance with your enemy. The truth is Macron will never go hungry or struggle to pay his bills and I'm sure he will pad out his days lazing around his multi-million dollar homes or taking lavish holidays with his grandma... i mean wife-ma. The ordinary French folk have been turned into peasants 'For the good of the nation and the wellbeing of the billionaire class' but they are entitled to vote in who the hell they like. What have they got to lose they already have no future or hope that's been handed to the millions of incomers. Globalism is for the rich and powerful it's not for the working class.

Common sense and decency is "far-right" to these people.

1:17 yes those migrants back then that helped rebuild in the 40’s earned their way to stay. 80 years later what have these “newcomers” put into France to earn their right to enter.
