Are hindges supposed to be outside or inside? To me hindges outside is a security issue.

Plumb refers to something being straight up and down, or truly vertical. It is used to describe walls, among other things. Level refers to something being straight from side to side, or horizontal. It is used to describe surfaces like floors.

There are exterior hinges for this who don’t know… Door ain’t backwards… or else people would be able to unscrew the door from the outside. The hinges can’t be taken out like a regular door either

How big of a door is the one you want to replace?

What no weatherizing?

This door is mounted backwards. The metal weather strip at the bottom goes outside not inside. Most important is the SECURITY strip that protects the latch is INSIDE when it SHOULD BE OUTSIDE!

The threshold is mounted on the door frame. Inswing or outswing is a personal preference.

If a door swings outwards… the hinges cannot be on the inside. Think about it.

Because the customer asked for it to be an outswing rather than an inswing. The manufacturers give us these options, and is a case by case how they get handed and direction of swing.

What a about sealing the entrance from outside?

This is costing me $6,900 in Ellenwood, Ga.

They had fresh paint that was just applied, and we added a cut line above the door opening 1" deep, and added polyurethane to shed the water around the opening if there was to be any water under the stucco. Typically the frames are left behind, but in this case we had a special case.

Video sucks, you didn't show anything useful, what was put on bottom of the door (caulking, liquid nails?), did you caulk before putting on the sides? What was the bottom plate, concrete, wood. No details no likes.

Just browsed this topic: sliding door removal and installing French doors. This happen to be second video that was same, just before and after lol. I wanted to know entire process to be inform before I get quote. Or even attemp DIY LOL

Here in Florida, patio doors are typically installed OUTSWING, due to better protection against the wind pressure of hurricanes.

This video wasn’t helpful at all. I am not a professional and even I know this was done incorrectly.
