It is a good tutorial. Improvement suggestions: (1) Show the FreeCad revision and which OS the tutorial is used. The reason is that the datum plan extension along the X- coordinate does not work for Rev 24291 on Windows 11. I moved back to FreeCAD(24291) due to having some problems with the latest FreeCAD (24366). (2) Show how the final product may be created into a solid mesh. This is a common missing part of many FreeCad tutorials online. In this case, the two bodies need to be combined into one using the boolean operation (the button with two overlapped circles) first, then create Mesh using Mefisto or Netgen. Using the Standard method will not create a solid.

I thought the datum plane will always have this coordinate system.

great tutorial, but why this very basic feature (draw sketch on another plane) require that much steps? Several years ago i play witch Inventor and it was at most 2-3 clicks, but for freecad it took several days to find this kind of solutions which that much steps...

I think there are ways to eliminate few steps even in this case... I kept them since this is a tutorial... Try just drawing 2 sketches/pad and boolean operation.

Freecad is not all that intuitive... But you can get good at it overtime. Thankyou...
