Freecad Tutorial. Easy Assembly. How to Use Assembly4 in FreeCad. Bracket, Screws and Pins are used.

This tutorial is all about assembly in CAD
If you are to master CAD software , you need to know how to assemble bodies in cad.
particularly standardized parts are widely used in assemblies...
We use Assembly4 to assemble multiple bodies. Assembly 4 uses local coordinate system of each body to align /orient each part to other body. This is a very simple method but needs practice to master it.

Thank you very much, I was having difficulty lining up the LCS, and yet it was so simple, at least in the hands of an expert. You just greatly simplified my life, I'm going to save on Tylenols.

You have great videos! It's ready hard to avoid the topo naming bug to get very far. I had to add some lines to a shape. But deleting a line to replace it with 2 lines really messed up my pads.

Thanks.... Topo problem is known problem in freecad. There are some best practices recommended in freecad wiki.

Hi CADZIS, thanks for your good tutorial. If I well understood Assembly 4 can be well used for top-down design. I tried today with two bodies using the Insert link to a Part (time 5:37) and the button Create a new coordinate system in a part is greyed out. I wonder what I’m doing wrong.

Use the Freecad v 0.18 or 0.19. There should not be any issue. I tried to recreate your problem and not able to do that.

48:00 clipping plane. Wow how did you find that? From the docs or experimenting? (There are so many settings in freecad. )

This is not very good method to check the x-sections. But this is the only one I found so far...

I've been using various CAD apps over many years and I have to say this is the most ridiculous assembly system I have ever seen. Will rather use A2plus.
